Whether it be the statues of the Greek Muses or reliefs of the Egyptian Goddess Meret — man has long paid homage to the songstresses of the world. And how could we not? It’s in our nature to revere those who bless the world with song. But while the Muses and Meret have long fallen to time, we still worship others like them. And with Good Smile Company’s Hatsune Miku Symphony figure (1/8 scale), you can worship the anime world’s Goddess of Song. Based on an illustration by Rella for the Hatsune Miku Symphony 2019 concert, this $140 figure beautifully represents the breathtaking quality of the original artwork.
Good Smile’s Hatsune Miku Symphony Figure — Where Beauty Shines
As a writer, there are words I should avoid when describing something. And that’s lamentable because some words, although commonly used, hold significant meaning. For example, think of the word “beautiful.” It’s a word that has been thoroughly diluted. Yet, all of us have witnessed a moment or a person who instantly evoked the word “beautiful.” And all of us can attest that no other description fits that scenario.
When one sees the Hatsune Miku Symphony 1/8 Scale Figure, the first thought that comes to mind is “beautiful.”
While this figure is a modest 8.19″ (21 cm), its radiance rivals our world’s tallest peaks. Sakaki Karou sculpted this figure in such a way that it portrays a captivating sense of movement. Miku’s long twintails and skirt flutter with a grace that gives the impression she’s turning to you in mid-song. And those iconic twintails are dazzling. The ABS and PVC used to make them gently give way from a matte aquamarine to ice-clear tips. Her cheery smile and captivating eyes are those of someone who was meant to grace a stage. Even her posture is that of a thoroughbred entertainer. Her stage outfit, while simple, exquisitely embodies the essence of her persona.
A musical note-adorned base makes the perfect companion for this figure because its colors play off the figure’s palette. Maimocchi’s color production in the Hatsune Miku Symphony Scale Figure is a visual symphony. Every detail of this figure exudes opulence, from her color-coordinated heels to her aquamarine and black waist ribbon. But unlike the deep blue of seas or the never-ending sky, this figure’s opulence is one you can own. Whether you’re a longtime Miku collector or looking at this to be your first figure, you can order it here.
