Lightning Warrior Raidy II Strikes Back

The lovely wandering swordswoman is back! Lightning Warrior Raidy II: Temple of Desire picks up shortly after the events of the first game. In her first game, Raidy fought her way through Cubust Tower while dominating sexy enemies and freeing captive maidens. Now her journey to uncover her past takes her to the oasis town of Lake Blue. There’s no rest for the wicked or virtuous on the continent of Els because a host of yuri monster girls await her! Will she claim victory once again, or will the monster girls force her into lewd servitude? Let’s find out.

Lightning Warrior Raidy Returns

Raidy departed Sadd after freeing the captives of Cubust Tower. Her journey to become stronger, find a certain someone, and discover the origins of her lightning power continues. After trekking through a desert for a week, Raidy came upon Lake Blue, an oasis town. She looked forward to some rest and relaxation after her battles in Sadd.

However, Raidy’s luck runs out when she encountters a problem in Lake Blue. That’s because a member of the Jami Bandits tries to abduct the cute maid Setia. Raidy might look like a “fine specimen” for a slave but her sword skills and lightning magic put the bandit in her place. Setia then explained that the bandits arrived a month ago and the townsmen weren’t strong enough to stop them from abducting their women. Looks like it’s up to Raidy to save the day. Powerful monsters and a familiar-looking warrior with red hair are waiting for her.

Raidy Navigates Many Dungeons

The gameplay is similar but more expansive than in the previous game. Raidy travels down numerous corridors and rooms in maze-like areas. The first game only had one dungeon with numerous floors to explore but Raidy II has a few to discover. Players can explore at will or return to town. There they can buy items and weapons or rest at the inn where Raidy can really “relax” and unwind after her adventure.

Dungeons are navigated in the first-person perspective and the maps are filled out as Raidy explores the area. There’s an indicator of where Raidy is on the map. This is an improvement from the previous game where players needed to find a map and there was no indication of where Raidy was. Rooms can contain chests with useful items, gold, or keys to unlock doors. They won’t visually appear in these 3D spaces, so players will have to bump into walls to find them. There are also fake walls to find, so be sure to bump whenever necessary.

Raidy Must Fight & Dominate Sexy Monster Girls!

Enemies such as monster girls and humans appear at random. The little whelps can rob Raidy and escape. Players can’t save during battle, so save often!Lightning Warrior Raidy II uses a classic turn-based combat system. Players can attack, defend, use an item, run, or use magic. The monster girls can do much the same during battle. Winning battles earns money, EXP, and lewd images of the defeated monster girls. Fight to level up and get strong enough to fight bosses.

Lightning Warrior Raidy II allows Raidy to change her combat style as players can equip a sword and shield, or dual-wield swords. Some swords require both hands to wield, however. Raidy’s trusty Thunder Slash can be charged across multiple turns to increase the amount of damage it does when you let loose.

Brave and Villainous Maidens

The art has aged wonderfully since the game was released in 2007. Again, Kazuma Muramasa graced the Lightning Warrior Raidy games with his art. Most every important character is a scantily-clad waifu who may want to sleep with Raidy. As before, the girls range in height and bust size. There are the tall and mature motherly types and the short pettanko girls who want to throw down. Together with the writing and the dynamic poses, these details bring a level of depth that elevates the game above being just a lewd visual novel. You’ll care about some of these characters. Except for the wererats that keep robbing Raidy.

There are plenty of animated lewd scenes to enjoy with these girls. Whether or not Raidy is dominating the situation depends on player choice. It’s important to talk to everyone and examine everything until the dialogue repeats for the best outcomes.

The world map is basic, with small icons of locations to visit. However, the location backgrounds from the streets of Lake Blue to the mansion are highly detailed. So the stage is truly set for these cute and sexy warriors to go all out.

The Sounds and Songs of Adventure

As with the first game, all of the characters are fully voiced. These and the sound effects complement the lewd scenes everyone enjoys. Similarly, the background music is well done with a retro vibe that can only come from the late ’90s to early 2000s. It makes wandering endless halls that much more enjoyable. As Raidy reaches Lake Blue a full theme song with an animated cutscene plays. No expense was spared to make this visual novel as epic as it could possibly be.

Conclusion

Lightning Warrior Raidy II has withstood the test of time as a classic visual novel that has aged beautifully. Firstly, it’s a dungeon crawling game that is crawling with sexy monster girls that require proper thought and strategy to overcome. Yes, Raidy still makes you work for those lewd moments but there’s less of a grind this time. Navigating the dungeons is enough to get players close to where they need to be to take on bosses. Finally, the cultured art and gameplay make for a fun time that can be experienced with one hand.
