Kantoku is one of our favorite artists from Japan, in case you couldn’t tell by the dozens of his artbooks, magazines, doujinshi, figures and Blu-rays we stock on J-List. Here’s an overview of his gorgeous artbook from Imoto Sae Ireba Ii, aka Imosae, aka A Sister’s All You Need, which was a fun anime based on novels by Haganai creator Yomi Hirasaka and illustrated by Kantoku.
A Sister’s All You Need (Imosae) is a fun anime about a guy named Itsuki who’s a semi-famous author of light novels that center on imouto (younger sister) fetishism. He’s got a “harem” of sorts, with the gorgeous and perverted Nayuta (who comes from Okinawa, which is why she drinks A&W Root Beer all the time), his university classmate Miyako (the straight man in the show), and Itsuki’s “stepbrother” who is totally not secretly a girl in disguise. There’s also Ashley, who wins hands-down as the hottest accountant in the history of anime, by default.
While the show might have turned off some fans with the over-the-top fantasy of what the “perfect younger sister” from one of Itsuki’s stories (which was basically the first 5 minutes of episode 1), I hope fans kept up with the show, as it’s really well-written with great characters.
At 200 pages, the Imosae Art Works artbook is nearly 2x the thickness of other artbooks, and you really get a lot of high-quality illustrations of all the characters, plus the expected character data, commentary by the artist and so on. And because it’s coming from Japan, naturally the printing is ridiculously gorgeous.
His artbook is a top-seller on J-List, and we have it in stock here!
