We sell a lot of sex toys, here at J-List. In fact, it can get a little hard to keep track sometimes. Let’s take a tour of the web store and see what treasures we can find. You’re sure to discover something that piques your interest.
Before we explore, here are a few quick, general tips for buying adult toys and getting the most out of them. Knowledge is power and all of that.
Some Advice for Buying Sex Toys
Think of your favorite pen. Don’t worry. This analogy won’t get any weirder.
You know why you love that special pen, but you probably didn’t buy it knowing you’d love it. Or you bought it because you had a similar one that worked well before. Sex toys are a lot like that; you won’t know you love a product until you’ve tried it. Luckily, you can get halfway there by reading recommendations, and we have a bunch.
Still, you’ll have your preferences and parameters (in other words, you might be big, small, or somewhere in between). So how do you find a suitable toy without spending too much on toys that don’t suit you? A good rule of thumb is to go for the most comfortable option for your first purchase, then go from there. Buy a soft onahole, rather than a hard one. Go big if you’re going inside it, or small if it’s inside you.
Sex Toys and Safety
Sex toys are often much safer than other options. As long as the toy fits well, isn’t damaged, and you keep it clean, you can enjoy many pleasurable moments without fear of bodily harm or infection. Different toys will have different cleaning requirements, but soapy water usually does the trick. Be sure to check any related guides for fitting, care, and cleaning. We even have an Onahole Maintenance Kit to keep your toys safe and ready for action.
People’s Opinions and the Fear of Discovery
Buying and owning sex toys has some social stigma attached to it, which can vary according to where you live in the world. I’m not sure that religion has anything to do with that stigma. When I worked in a hotel in Las Vegas, our cleaning staff often found sex toys left behind in the rooms. Supposedly people didn’t want them discovered in their flight luggage, or back at home.
Navigating this stigma is all about discretion and, surprisingly, honesty.
If you’re married, honesty really is the best policy for mitigating sex toy-related conflict. Talk to your partner before you buy. If they’re not keen on the idea, find out why. Showing them that their opinion matters to you is important, and open lines of communication are a good thing, no matter what you’re discussing.
Secondly, keep things private. You don’t need to show your purchases off on social media. If you live at home with your parent, don’t leave your sex toys around. Clean them after use and pack them away in a safe, private place. Also, when you buy we’ll remove the packaging of your purchase, at no extra cost, with our Onahole Box Removal Service.
Finally, if you are asked uncomfortable questions or get skew looks, just remember that you’re being safe and responsible, and what you do in private is your business.
Onaholes
Quality onaholes from Japan are always among our top sellers. If you’re new to onaholes, grab the Onahole Dropout from Tamatoys, giving you two toys to try.
Many onaholes have interesting gimmicks that set them apart from other onaholes. Sometimes these gimmicks are fantastically weird, sometimes they create the perfect experience. The Ultimate Penetration DX Onahole, for example, is about giving you the most realistic feeling of making love to a woman.
Of course, you probably wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for anime, and Japan has figured out some ingenious ways to connect you and your 2D waifu. The Insert Air Pillow, for example, lets you insert your favourite onahole and then cover the whole package with a picture of your chosen anime beauty. There’s even an Insert Air Pillow with legs! What surprises me about this product is that there isn’t a great parody gimmick of this toy yet, which means many creative avenues have yet to be explored.
Onaholes and creativity. It’s an amazing world.
One last bit of advice comes from Peter Payne himself: try to determine which company’s philosophy matches yours. Do you like the creativity and parody of 2D waifu products made by Tamatoys? Do you prefer the much larger toys made by Maccos Japan? Or the dedication to realism offered by Magic Eyes?
Tenga Eggs
Tenga Eggs are like onaholes, but they don’t look like sex toys and are dirt cheap, making them great for travel. Tenga makes a range of sex toys, a lot of which look like something out of I-Robot. Discrete, elegant, and manufactured to the high standards you’d expect from Japan, Tenga toys are some of the best for couples.
As we’ll soon see, Tenga makes great lube too. Their Tenga Egg Lotion (yes, I said “egg lotion”), is the perfect accompaniment to any collection of Tenga Eggs.
Getting the Good Vibes
Denma vibrators are the gold standard of pleasure toys for women. The Denma Collection Mint Green vibrator is waterproof, has a silent mode, and is made of high-quality silicone, making it soft and easy to clean.
And yes, you can use it for massages.
Sexy Cosplay
Cat tail anal plugs, otokonoko (cross-dressing) “treasure boxes”, and a heap of other cosplay apparel turn playtime into an event, much like wearing a suit to dinner dials things up to “swanky”.
Some things to consider here. If you’re a guy, remember that 2L is the Japanese equivalent of a US men’s-size M. All of our otokonoko items are made for men, but if you’re big or tall then look for items that can stretch and that have plenty of room for wider shoulders. A good example of this is the Gal Bra & Shorts collection, which has a lot of space in the hips and shoulders to accommodate more guys. You’ll still want to follow those sizes for the best fit though.
One exception to the “made for men” rule is our shimapan collection, which is sized for women.
Lotions, Lube, and Fragrances
Lotions can add a scent to your favorite toy, heat up under friction, lubricate, or do other sorts of alchemical magic. Lube specifically reduces friction between your skin and the toy, making things all slippery. Fragrances provide alluring aromas, like The Smell of a Date with Japanese Girl car fragrance. Sometimes the lines blur between lotion, lube, and fragrances, but the product’s description will give you a good idea of what you’re getting.
You can find all our lotions, lubes, fragrances, and sometimes condoms on the J-List website. Megumi’s recommendation for a first purchase is our best-selling Tenga Play Gel: Natural Wet Japanese lube. Many toys also come with a small packet of lube. Again, check the description.
