Anime series which show how a manga series is made are far between. That’s why Zatsu Tabi That’s Journey is a pleasant surprise. We see how a mangaka with great potential works through a block by traveling around Japan. We’ll see what she creates when the series premieres sometime in 2025. Let’s enjoy the new trailer until then.
Kenta Ishizaka released the original Zatsu Tabi That’s Journey manga series on March 27th, 2019. ASCII Media Works has published ten volumes in Dengeki Maoh since.
Our traveling mangaka is as follows:
- Chika Suzugamori — Hika Tsukishiro (Ordinary Person (ep 41) from Jujutsu Kaisen). Chika is an award-winning mangaka who needs a change of scenery.
Makaria has maintained a home page and a Twitter (X) page to promote Zatsu Tabi That’s Journey. You can find additional series information and the Key Visuals there.
Zatsu Tabi That’s Journey Finds Inspiration
Chika Suzugamori is a budding mangaka. She has even won a newcomer manga award that earned her ¥100,000. However, she still has a long way to go before becoming a professional. Her most recent manga drafts lacked a personal touch, so they were all rejected. Rather than letting rejection sink her down, Chika’s thoughts turned toward a desire to go on a journey. On a random impulse, she posted a poll to social media asking her followers which direction she should go from Tokyo. A popular creator reposted her poll, and she received plenty of attention.
The results told her to travel north, so Chika went north to Aizuwakamatsu in Fukushima Prefecture. Aizu has plenty to see and do, and it’s just what a struggling mangaka needs to pull through. It’s a good thing she has ¥100,000 just lying around.
Will you watch Zatsu Tabi That’s Journey when it premieres in 2025? Have you read the original manga version? Will traveling help Chika become a better mangaka? Let us know in the comments below.
