A great king ruled alone. His unparalleled strength isolated him from everyone, and he trusted no one. The king met his end, but that is not where his story concluded. He was reborn in another world and granted a chance to live a far better life than before. We’ll see what sort of life he leads when The Beginning After the End (Saikyou no Ousama, Nidome no Jinsei wa Nani wo Suru?) premieres sometime in April 2025.
TurtleMe and Fuyuki23 released the original The Beginning After the End web novel on July 7th, 2018. Tapas has since published six volumes.

The king and his reborn self are as follows:
- King Grey — Makoto Furukawa (Rider of Red/Achilles from Fate/Apocrypha). A peerless king who died under mysterious circumstances.
- Arthur Leywin — Natsumi Fujiwara (Damian Desmond in Spy x Family). The king’s reincarnation and the son of two former adventurers.
Studio A-Cat maintains a home page and a Twitter (X) page to promote The Beginning After the End. There, you can find more information about the series and key visuals. The king returns in all his glory.
The King Returns at The Beginning After the End
King Grey ruled with an iron fist and unparalleled martial prowess. Grey felled champions from all over the world. Although he wasn’t a tyrant, he nevertheless distrusted those around him. So it was that many people wanted him gone, and one of them may have succeeded. He died without glory in his solitary bed. However, that wasn’t the end for him. The king would rise in humbler settings.

King Grey is reborn as Arthur Leywin, the son of the retired adventurers Reynolds and Alice Leywin. His new world is far less advanced than his prior one. While it lacks technology, it compensates with magic, which has an energy like Arthur’s former world’s ki. Arthur decides to live a peaceful life with those who care about him. His knowledge and experience as a legendary king will ensure he’ll get his wish.
