Trigun has made a grand return to our homes in the form of a new anime adaptation titled Trigun Stampede. It’s not a sequel to the beloved anime that ran from April 1st, 1998, to September 30th, 1998. Trigun Stampede seems to be a reimagining of sorts. Given the apparent lack of Milly Thompson from the cast, the change to CGI animation, and various other changes to a well-known tale of bullets flying in a desert world. But the spirit is true to Vash’s legendary series. We’ve previously touched upon it as one of the anime series Crunchyroll is streaming. It also made the list of anime series we here at J-List are hyped to see this season.
In case you missed it, Trigun Stampede has already begun streaming. The latest PV can prime you for what promises to be a very excellent anime series.
The creditless opening video has also been uploaded featuring the song Tombi by the talented singer Kvi Baba.
Fans of the original Trigun anime when it aired in the West in 1998 will be pleased to know that Johnny Yong Bosch has returned to reprise his role as Vash the Stampede. He credits the role as the one that launched his voice-over career.

Studio Orange took the reins from Madhouse when Trigun was readapted to anime form. They have their own Twitter account to keep up to date on other Orange anime series. They have also set up a Trigun Stampede Twitter account and home page to check out for PVs, cast interviews, and key visuals, such as the ones below.
For a bit of history concerning one of the legendary franchises, Trigun began as a manga series written and illustrated by Yasuhiro Nightow (Naitō Yasuhiro). Trigun was published from April 1995 to January 1997, with a sequel series titled Trigun Maximum running from October 1997 to March 2007. Proving its absolute staying power, Trigun Stampede will begin streaming to the West on January 21st, 2023.
