Arihito worked himself to the bitter end for a slave driver of a boss. He was even working in transit to a ski resort as part of a workplace vacation. His tired life ends abruptly when the bus carrying them crashes. Arihito is the last to awaken in another world, where the local supporters tell him that his new job is to delve into labyrinths. We’ll see how he copes with his new life and his boss when The World’s Strongest Rearguard: Labyrinth Country’s Novice Seeker (Sekai Saikyo no Koei: Meikyukoku no Shinjin Tansakusha) premieres sometime in July 2026.

The World’s Strongest Rearguard Cast
The overworked rearguard, his former boss, and his new rogue friend are as follows:

- Arihito Atobe — Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Inosuke Hashibira from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba). Arihito is a too-dutiful salaryman who becomes the strongest rearguard.
- Kyouka Igarashi — Sakura Nakamura (Hibiki Inatomi from Girls und Panzer: Motto Love Love Sakusen desu!). Kyouka is Arihito’s former boss, who hid her own issues. She is the party’s beautiful Valkyrie.
- Theresia — Aoi Koga (Kiwi Araga / Leopard from Gushing over Magical Girls). Theresia is a silent demi-human who once lived as a human. She is the party’s mysterious rogue.
Maho Film maintains a home page and a Twitter (X) page to promote The World’s Strongest Rearguard. You can find more information about the series and the key visuals at those sites.
The World’s Strongest Rearguard Gains a Second Chance in Another World
Arihito Atobe’s colleagues would easily call him the hardest worker in their company. It wasn’t a compliment; the man was known and pitied for working overtime. Arihito met his initial end during a trip to a ski resort. The office that worked him like a dog planned to give its employees some well-deserved R & R. Well, Truck-kun’s part-time Bus-kun stepped in and sent most of the employees on an isekai adventure.

Arihito was the last to awaken in Labyrinth Country, a place where some people of Earth venture to after death. It’s a common occurrence there. A guide tells him of his fate and that he must now become a Seeker, an adventurer who slays monsters and gathers items in dangerous labyrinths. Arihito decides to become a “rearguard,” a supporter for his party. His license glitches out, turning him into the ultimate supporter. Even his old boss starts to admire him.
Will you set off fireworks when you watch the premiere of The World’s Strongest Rearguard in July? Have you read the original novel? Will Arihito get his deserved harem ending? Let us know in the comments below.
