A popular romance anime trope involves non-blood-related family members getting closer than usual. It’s almost comforting to see a new series with this element, like an old friend returning home. This new series has everything, including girls with unnatural hair colors. When these siblings learn they have no blood relation, they immediately act on their long-held emotions. Take your bets on whether or not the blue-haired girl finds love. We’ll see which girl comes out on top when The Shiunji Family Children premieres sometime in April 2025. Chika Anzai, Marika Kōno, Rie Takahashi, Hana Hishikawa, and Kana Ichinose perform the ending theme song “Like You o(>< = ><)o Love You?” as their characters.
Reiji Miyajima released the original The Shiunji Family Children manga series on February 25th, 2022. Hakusensha has since published five volumes in Young Animal.
The harem protagonist and two of his not-blood-related sisters are as follows:
- Arata Shiunji — Yuichiro Umehara (Sekido from Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba). The eldest son of the Shiunji family. He is a reliable older brother who cares about his sisters.
- Ouka Shiunji — Rie Takahashi (Pepper from Urusei Yatsura). The third daughter of the Shiunji family. She is an ace student who excels in both sports and academics.
- Seiha Shiunji — Marika Kōno (Silence Suzuka from Uma Musume Pretty Derby). The second daughter of the Shiunji family. She is the most gifted student at her school.

The Shiunji Family Children Learn an Interesting Secret
The Shiunji family lives in a large mansion in a high-end residential area of Setagaya, Tokyo. Five sisters gifted with beauty and intelligence live under that spacious roof. Although many would envy someone living there, the sisters often boss around the family’s eldest son. Arata is still a kind and dependable older brother to them. Their idyllic life continued unchanged until their father revealed an immense family secret.
At the youngest daughter’s birthday party, his father reveals none of the family members have a blood connection. Minami and Shion are twins, but they were all adopted from different families. As the siblings come to terms with the truth, they begin seeing one another in a new light. Arata’s dream of finding female companionship outside his sisters seems further off now. Take your bets on whether he does his duty as a harem protagonist or family-zones his hot sisters.
