The promise has finally been kept. Tanya’s defiance of Being X continues with each battle she walks away from. She was once an atheist, a Japanese businessman who held firm to his Darwinistic beliefs. These beliefs led to his untimely demise when someone he fired for falling short of these beliefs pushed him in front of a train. We’ll see how she continues to fight a god and the country that praises him when The Saga of Tanya the Evil (Yojo Senki) Season 2 premieres sometime in 2026.
Carlo Zen (pseudonym) and Shinobu Shinotsuki released the original The Saga of Tanya the Evil (Yojo Senki) light novel on October 31st, 2013. Enterbrain has since published fourteen volumes. The Saga of Tanya the Evil Begins with Defiance
The person who would become known as Tanya von Degurechaff was once just an ordinary Japanese businessman. He firmly believed in the survival of the fittest and found the thought of a god laughable. These beliefs quickly became his undoing. An employee he had terminated pushed him in front of a train in an act of revenge, and he met a being calling himself God. As punishment for his lack of belief, Being X reincarnated the businessman into an alternate reality at war and warned him that an untimely death would be the least of his worries.

Thus, Tanya took the stage in a world similar to World War II Europe. She is determined to find a safe place away from battle and live out a nice and quiet life. However, her power and keen insight make her more fit for the front lines. Tanya must instead rise through the ranks and secure a cushy position that would keep her safe. Being X won’t make it easy for her, nor will his new acolyte, with whom Tanya has some unfortunate history.
