One of life’s most entrenched masculine traits is the urge to rule your own domain with a horny girl as a companion. Most of us won’t accomplish that goal. But, with the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Fuurou’s The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subjects, we can at least live vicariously. Best of all, we don’t have to wait long for that to happen, as the anime will premiere in July!
Ryomin 0-nin Start no Henkyo Ryoushu-sama‘s production team released a trailer and visual ahead of the anime’s premiere. Animation Studio42, which has only worked on Jack-of-All-Trades, Party of None, will animate the adaptation.

The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subjects — Synopsis and Deets
After countless battles and decades of war, the warrior Dias is celebrated as a valiant hero for his remarkable accomplishments. His feats are so renowned that the king bestows upon him one of the highest honors in the land — a lordship and a domain to accompany his title.
Overjoyed with what he believed was a new beginning, Dias’s hopes are shattered as he discovers only endless plains stretching before him in his new home. Dias’ territory not only hinders prosperity, but it’s also so remote that it hinders agriculture and comfort. But his laments are short-lived as a horned girl steadily shows him the greatness of the vast lands he’s been gifted.
Fuurou first published The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subjects on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website on January 20, 2018. Earth Star Entertainment acquired the web novel that year and began publishing it as a light novel featuring illustrations by Kinta on their Earth Star Novel imprint. The publisher has released fourteen volumes. J-Novel Club releases the English version of the light novel.
Yumbo adapted the light novel into a manga. The Comic Earth Star website has serialized it since December 2018.
