A brave swordsman stands on the front line between his home and demons. He is the guardian of the divine shrine maiden. Though he has his own circumstances, he will face any threat to his house and princess, no matter how long he must fight. We’ll see how he fares in battle when Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentosho premieres on March 31st, 2025. Production issues delayed this series from its initially scheduled June 2024 premiere.
Moto’o Nakanishi and Tamaki released the original Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentosho light novel between June 21st, 2019, and November 22nd, 2023. Futabasha published all fourteen volumes.

The guardian and two people he has sworn to protect are as follows:
- Jinta — Taku Yashiro (Sagara Sanosuke in Rurouni Kenshin). The shrine maiden’s guardian and one of the finest swordfighters in Kadono.
- Suzune — Reina Ueda (Sonia from Spy x Family). Jinta’s younger sister has a demonic red eye and longevity.
- Shirayuki — Saori Hayami (Oyuki from Urusei Yatsura (2022)). Kadono’s divine shrine maiden. She has mutual affection for Jinta.
Yokohama Animation Laboratory maintains a home page and a Twitter (X) page to promote Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentosho. There, you can find additional series information and the key visuals.

The Eternal Guardsman, Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentosho
Jinta and Suzune left Edo and settled in Kadono, a quaint village which Itsukihime, the shrine maiden, protects and guides. Her role makes both her and Kadono a target for nefarious demons. Kadono welcomed both children with open arms, and no one mentioned Suzune’s demonic eye and inhuman longevity.

Jinta grew up as a fine swordsman and swore to defend the new Itsukihime, his childhood friend Shirayuki. For her part, Suzune looks like a child despite being seventeen years of age. Jinta’s battle to defend both while hiding his feelings for Shirayuki will span years and generations.
