Spy Classroom Promotional Video Reveals Cast Members

One dark horse anime adaptation that is starting to sneak its way into the greater consciousness of fans around the world is Spy Classroom. First announced back in March 2022, the initial adaptation announcement video left little impression on fans’ minds (to be fair, we were in the tail end of our torrid love affair with Kitagawa) with few people talking about this title. Well, it’s time to get better acquainted with this series as it’s back to make a second impression with a brand new promotional video and some more details regarding who will bring these characters to life.

As you saw in the subtitled promotional video, they cloaked the story of this series in suspense. In an age where spies are everywhere, there is one who has never failed at his mission. His name is Klaus. Now, however, he must take on a mission with a 90% chance of failure. To make things harder, his team for this mission comprises seven young washouts who have zero experience in the field.

Also seen in the promotional video were the cast announcements of these seven girls who will assist Klaus (as always, character names first):

Grete: Miku Ito

Sibylla: Nao Toyama

Monika: Aoi Yuki

Thea: Sumire Uesaka

Sara: Ayane Sakura

Annett: Tomori Kusunoki

Set to premiere in 2023, studio feel will handle the animation for Spy Classroom with Keiichiro Kawaguchi as director.

Originally a light novel series written by Takemachi and illustrated by Tomari, Spy Classroom began its run in January 2020 and is up to seven volumes as of March 2022 (there have also been two short story collections released as well). Yen Press is currently releasing the series in English with three volumes out as of May 2022.

While I’m not 100% sold on this series, this new promotional video has done an excellent job of pushing me closer to the “wanting to check this out” line. There are still a few months before 2023, though, so there is still lots of time for Spy Classroom to release more promotional videos in an attempt to win us all over.
