This has been an amazing week for new anime adaptation announcements, and it seems that the good news is just going to keep rolling along.
On Thursday, February 4th, it was announced that we’re getting a brand new anime adaptation of the mobile game Seven Knights. The new anime will be titled Seven Knights Revolution: The Hero’s Successor (or Seven Knights Revolution: Eiyū no Keishōsha) and will premiere in April 2021.
As you saw in the promotional video, not only did we get the video and a key visual, but we also got some cast and crew details! Bringing the two main characters to life will be (character names first):
Nemo: Daiki Yamashita
Faria: Hibiku Yamamura
In terms of the crew, the animation will be jointly produced by studios LIDEN FILMS and Domerica. Kazuya Ichikawa will direct and work on a series composition composed by Ukyo Kodachi. Arisa Matsuura will provide the anime’s character designs while Yoshiaki Fujisawa will compose the background music.
Originally a mobile game that launched in Japan in 2016 (a global English version launched soon afterward), the story for the game is described as:
On the day the sun refused to rise
The God of Destruction divided his power into twelve pieces.
and distributed it to twelve chosen leaders on earth.
Among them, Seven were chosen in the land of Asgard.
Their deadly powers threatened each other, and war seemed to be inevitable.
Goddess Ellena took pity upon the world and decided to end the war by selecting a boy she deemed worthy, and bestowed her own powers to him hidden deep in his consciousness in order to prevent misuse.
After finding out about his adopted past, Evan, the son of a general, embarks on an adventure to search for his real parents, along with a necklace given to him by his birth parents as the only clue.
During his adventure, Evan came across a town after it was ravaged by the Goblins. and rescued a girl named Karin from danger.
After losing both her parents to the Goblin raids, Karin decides to leave her town to start her own adventure alongside Evan.
As you can tell because the anime’s main characters have different names, the story of the game will not be the same as what we see in April. With any luck, however, what we see in the anime adaptation will be much better than what any of us have played in the game.
