A new trailer for the upcoming Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts has been released, introducing the human girl who was meant to end up on a beast’s dinner plate but ended up in the Beast King’s bed instead. A fun cast of characters is shown, along with new friends and potential enemies for the cute human girl to meet. This trailer should keep fans happy until the series premieres in April 2023. As we discussed before, Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts will be available on Crunchyroll’s streaming services.
In addition to a great trailer to hype fans up for the series premiere, J.C.Staff, the fine animators bringing Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts to life, have set up official YouTube and Twitter accounts, as well as a home page, all of which contain further series information and art to look over.
Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts (Niehime to Kemono no Ou) features an unusual love story. The humans regularly send female human sacrifices to the beasts to be devoured, a symbol of the beasts’ superiority over the humans. King Leonhart, the ruler of the kingdom of Ozmargo, receives the 99th total sacrifice, a girl named Sariphi, and has become interested in her. She didn’t cry nor show fear in the face of any beast or demon. Even if freed, she had no home to return to, so she was ready to accept her fate. However, instead of devouring her like so many other human girls, Leonhart took her as a consort and the future queen of beasts and demons.
Despite the warm reception at Ozmargo, Sari’s time isn’t without troubles. Set, who shares some traits with the Egyptian god, isn’t the friendliest judge and executioner. And Sari’s childhood friend Ilya pays a visit to “save” her from her terrible fate at the hands of the beasts and demons. Sari does get an animal familiar named Bennu, though, and he’s a “Holy Beast,” a cute 10,000-year-old phoenix. Additionally, Leonhart has a human form, likely gained from having a human mother, and Sari appears quite fond of his handsome, human form.
