Not everyone who reads this article will be immediately familiar with the name Yuya Takahashi but, much like the rest of us, he’s stuck in his home due to the worldwide crisis that we’re all living through. Unlike most of the rest of us though, Takahashi is also a skilled professional animation artist having worked on titles that range from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Fairy Tail, Madoka Magica, and even Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. So, what do you do when you’re a professional animator stuck at home with nothing else to do? You animate, of course!
In late April, Takahashi posted a short, 25-second video animated by himself to his Twitter and YouTube which expertly blends real-life with fantasy by imagining his desk as a ninja obstacle course, complete with a ninja who desperately wants to avoid the giant hand trying to smoosh him!
The video might be short but you’ll want to revisit it a few times in order to marvel at the details included in the art. Not only is the animation fluid but the attention to camera work and scale is quite remarkable and it makes one wonder just how long it took for him to put this all together.
Unfortunately, it seems that this piece of art was a one-time thing as Takahashi hasn’t posted much else to his YouTube channel within the last few days. If he does decide to further the story between animator and ninja though, we’ll be among the first to tell you all about it and show you the newest edition as soon as it goes live!
