It’s been a while since we last discussed ’Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess (Hime-sama “Gomon” no Jikan desu). The unique story about how the demon army tortures a princess knight is set to begin in January 2024. She did her best to break the demon army, but she was captured all the same. Now, the prison echoes with her cries of satisfaction. It seems the demons can cook a fine four-course meal. The trailer below highlights the demons’ wicked scheme.
Robinson Haruhara and Hirakei began to write and draw, respectively, ’Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess on April 4th, 2019. Shueisha has since released twelve volumes to the Jump Comics+ imprint and Shonen Jump+ magazine.
The captive princess and her captors are as follows:
- Princess — Haruka Shiraishi (Chitose Shirakawa in The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten). Princess was defeated in battle and captured by the Hellhorde. She now spends her time enduring regular interrogations in jail.
- Torture Tortura — Shizuka Ito (Kai Harn in Bastard!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy-). The lead interrogator who carries out Princess’s “torture” sessions. She specializes in food-based torture.
- Hell-Lord — Tessho Genda (Kaido in One Piece). The Demon King and humanity’s enemy. He’s a great lover of Japanese culture. Consistently fails to capitalize on any classified intel the princess provides.
A home page and an official Twitter page promote ’Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess. Fans and potential viewers can find behind-the-scenes information and the Key Visuals. Additionally, the artist behind the original manga series has a Twitter page where he shared a drawing to celebrate this anime adaptation.
Pine Jam’s Newest Cute Girls Doing Cute Things
Studio Pine Jam is behind this ’Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess anime adaptation. Their first big project, which premiered a year after their founding, was Mahou Shoujo Nante Mouiidesukara, which set the stage for their affinity for cute girls and fanservice. A series like Gamers! involves gaming and cute girls, so it’s a win for everyone. Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible, which Peter discussed here before, involves a cute girl and a shy boy.
Likewise, Tawawa on Monday is mostly fanservice, and you’ll want to read Joe’s reviews. Despite the ridiculous complaints about the series, it was still quite good. Joe’s posts on Gleipnir should highlight the fun fanservice that can be found. If you see Pine Jam’s name on an anime project, there’s an even chance cute girls doing cute things are present.
Torture: Her Name and Profession
’Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess is another one of those very descriptive titles. The unnamed princess led the Imperial Army into battle against the Hellhorde, which the Hell-Lord leads. Though she is an incredibly skilled and powerful knight and commander, her foes capture her. Stripped of her armor and left only in rags and, oddly, her crown, Princess was imprisoned to await judgment. Her only companion is the sentient legendary blade Excalibur. He maintains his job to keep her on the path of nobility. However, his partner is the Princess, and the demons are very good at their job.
The Hell-Lord is determined to break the princess and obtain valuable state secrets from her. As such, he has tasked his top interrogator, Torture Tortura, to get the job done. Torture, both her name and profession, is a specialist in food-based interrogations. How long can the princess keep her secrets? Will Torture’s mouth-watering meals loosen her lips? What is this I hear about pet-based interrogators? It’s a good thing the Hell-Lord is more interested in Japanese culture and lazing about than he is in winning battles.
