New Love Live! Spinoff to be Television Series

Love Live New Tv Announcement

We have some big news for Love Live! fans today!

Back in December, we informed everyone of a brand new Love Live! spinoff titled Love Live! Nijigasaki Academy and, today, we have some interesting new information via the official website. We can now confirm that the new spinoff will be a television series. And there was much rejoicing. Unfortunately, that little piece of information is pretty much all we know at this point but as always please stay tuned to this blog for more details regarding the series as they are released to the public.

Along with that tidbit of information, we also learned that open auditions are going to be held later this year for one of the main characters, but there are some interesting conditions that have to be met in order to even qualify to try out. You have to be a female living in Japan (or can move there easily) between the ages of 15 and 22 (as of April 2020). You also cannot already have a contract with any sort of management or talent agency. Oh, also you can’t be married.

In the original anime, the story features a school idol group called μ’s who are working to save their school from shutting down by bringing in more prospective students. It was followed by a second season, movie, animated music videos, and much more. In 2016, a spinoff series titled Love Live Sunshine started airing which features the group Aquors (the name was decided on by fans by popular vote). This anime series was equally successful if not more so and also got a second season and movie.

Love Live! seems to be the gift that keeps on giving. I’m already looking forward to seeing what’s next for this franchise! What are you hoping to see in the next television series?
