Our favorite mechanized heroes are back! Joe and his friends were made to commit evil acts for Black Ghost. However, their purity and courage gave them the strength to fight their would-be masters and defend the world. A new group of nine cyborgs has now appeared and declared that the original nine are no longer fit for purpose. We’ll see them and their usurpers take to a new battlefield when Cyborg 009 Nemesis premieres on July 19th, 2026.

Shotaro Ishinomori released the original Cyborg 009 manga series between 1964 and 1981. Shueisha published all 27 volumes in Monthly Shonen Jump. Toei Animation’s anime movie adaptation premiered on March 19th, 1967. Japan Vistec and Studio OX’s anime series premiered on October 14th, 2001.
Cyborg 009 Nemesis Cast
Three of the key cyborgs are as follows:
- Joe Shimamura / Cyborg 009 — Yuuki Kaji (Clef from Magic Knight Rayearth (2026)). Joe was an ordinary person until Black Ghost abducted him. His Acceleration Mode grants him superhuman speed.
- Françoise Arnoul / Cyborg 003 — Saori Hayami (Yor Forger from Spy × Family). Françoise was a French ballerina until Black Ghost arrived. Her superhuman sight and hearing map out entire battlefields with extreme precision.
- Graviton / Nemesis 009 — Yuichi Nakamura (Gray Fullbuster from Fairy Tail). Graviton’s mysteries are only rivaled by his ability to control gravity itself.
Ishimori Pro will animate the anime adaptation, which has an official website and YouTube and Twitter (X) accounts to promote Cyborg 009 Nemesis. You can find more information about the series and the key visuals at those sites.
Speed vs. Gravity, Cyborg 009 Nemesis
The evil Black Ghost organization abducted nine people from around the world for their cyborg experiments. A few were held for a short time, while others were frozen for decades until technology advanced far enough for the experiments to proceed. Their most recent capture, Joe Shimamura, became the catalyst for Dr. Gilmore’s plan to free the cybernetic soldiers and undermine Black Ghost’s plan to start World War III.
Fifty years have passed since the 00 Cyborgs began their fight for peace. A group of nine cyborgs has appeared and declared that Dr. Gilmore’s nine cyborgs cannot bring about the peace they promise. The Nemesis Nine, led by Graviton, a cyborg that can manipulate gravity itself, have declared war on Black Ghost’s creations. Time will tell if Joe’s Acceleration Mode can defeat Graviton’s gravity powers.
