A new robotic waifu is going to take the stage! My Wife Has No Emotion (Boku no Tsuma wa Kanjo ga nai) brings a lonely office worker and a cute robot girl together in one tiny apartment. His joke of taking her as his wife has unexpected and fun consequences. We’ll see how they do when this anime series premieres sometime in July. Let’s enjoy the new trailer until then.
Jiro Sugiura published the original My Wife Has No Emotion to Pixiv in March 2019. Media Factory obtained the publishing rights and began to release the series in Monthly Comic Flapper on August 5th, 2019. Seven volumes have been published thus far.
Our star-crossed lovers are as follows:
- Takuma Kosugi — Toshiyuki Toyonaga (Keita from Sword Art Online). A lonely office worker who purchased a cooking robot to handle housework for him. He gradually fell in love with her.
- Mina — Konomi Inagaki (Copano Rickey from Uma Musume Pretty Derby). A robot built to cook and clean. She took Takuma’s joke about her being his wife very seriously.
Tezuka Productions has maintained a home page and a Twitter (X) page to promote My Wife Has No Emotion. You can find additional series information and the Key Visuals there.
My Wife Has No Emotion Can Robots Truly Love?
My Wife Has No Emotion presents the question all good cultured otaku have long since wondered: can robot girls truly love? For our sake, I certainly hope so. Takuma is a hard-working office employee. As such, he has little time to cook and clean. He purchased a pre-owned cooking robot from the “Super Mina” line. She had a previous owner, so she was well within his budget.
Mina is cute and helpful, so Takuma can’t help but look at her as something other than a robot. He even jokingly suggested that she become his wife. Mina took this joke quite seriously, leading her to move outside the bounds of her programming. Takuma slowly took her seriously in turn, leading to a unique relationship forming between them.
