There may be plenty of smartphone games releasing practically every day in English, but the number of games that never make it out of Japan is sure to surprise you. Because of the fact that not every mobile game ends up getting a global release, there are also bound to be plenty of impressive titles that you didn’t even know existed. For example, did you know that the writer of Final Fantasy XII, Miwa Shoda, wrote the story of a new mobile game? Or that he created it alongside Resident Evil artist Hiroaki Ueno and Xenoblade Chronicles X artist Yoko Tsukamoto? That game is Magatsu Wahrheit, and despite being relatively unknown in America, it’s been turning enough heads in Japan since it launched in April of 2019 to warrant the announcement of an anime adaptation. Now, a set of new voice actors participating in the upcoming anime have been revealed.
The official website for the upcoming anime version of this mobile RPG, titled Magatsu Wahrheit -Zuerst-, shared the news of the following new cast members for the show:
- Kenichirō Matsuda as Arnold
- Junichi Yanagita as Benjamin
- Ryōta Suzuki as Klaus
- Kazuyuki Okitsu as Conrad
- Tarusuke Shingaki as Fritz
They join the previously announced cast members for Magatsu Wahrheit -Zuerst-:
- Atsushi Abe as Inumaeru
- Yuuki Ono as Reokadio
- Yumiri Hanamori as Shake
- Yukiyo Fujii as Erufuriide
- Kenjiro Tsuda as Heruman
Set to premiere sometime in 2020, Magatsu Wahrheit -Zuerst- is being produced at Yokohama Animation Lab, the anime studio previously responsible for series like Miru Tights and Starlight Promises. It’s being directed by Naoto Hosoda, who previously worked on series like The Devil is a Part-Timer!, The Future Diary, and Shuffle!. Hosoda is also supervising the series scripts, as well as co-writing the scripts alongside Africa Salaryman, Infinite Dendrogram, and My First Girlfriend is a Gal veteran Yuichiro Momose. Character designs are being handled by Akiko Sugizono, while the art director on the series is Hirotsugu Kakoi. Masaru Yokoyama, who previously composed for Fate/Apocrypha, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, and the 2019 reboot of Fruits Basket, will be composing music for this series as well.
KLabGames describes the story of the source material as:
The world is Wahrheit, a dark place that has been dragged to the brink of extinction by ten pillars of light. Players join the elite, mobile fighting force known as the Kidou Heidan which has sworn to take up arms against those that threaten to destroy humanity, working alongside friends and other players to battle this danger to the human race.
