There are times when people born into the hero’s bloodline suffer some form of loss. Known as the “hero’s scar,” they’re born with a missing limb or one of their senses is impaired. Their friends and family call it a fortuitous event, and even the royal family sees it as a blessing. However, the newest person to bear this scar works to undermine it to live a good life. We’ll see if he accomplishes his task when Kunon the Sorcerer Can See (Majutsu-shi Kunon wa Mieteiru) premieres sometime in January 2026.
Umikaze Minamino and Laruha released the original Kunon the Sorcerer Can See light novel on March 10th, 2022. Fujimi Shobo has since published seven volumes in the Kadokawa Books imprint.

Kunon the Sorcerer Can See the Adventure Begins
Kunon Gurion was born into a prestigious family that descends from a great hero. He was also the first in a century to have shown signs of the “hero’s scar,” a birth defect. Kunon’s parents and their friends were happy to see that he was born blind and that he would be engaged to the royal princess Mirika. He didn’t share their enthusiasm for his lack of sight. Kunon’s mood lightened when he heard that he gained a “water crest” that allowed him to use water magic.

After his water magic tutor compared a water orb to the size of an eyeball, Kunon began to consider using magic to replace his useless eyes. His potential with magic is such that the tutor Genie believes that he can become a revered Blue Sorcerer. With his overly affectionate maid, Iko, at his side, and his fiancée Mirika slowly seeing him in a new light, he may just become a legend with eyes that see all.
