The official website and Twitter of Kotobuki Squadron in The Wilderness (Kouya no Kotobuki Hikoutai) announced, Girls Und Panzar‘s director Tsutomu Mizushima’s new original anime, Kotobuki Squadron in The Wilderness, to air in January 2019. The anime series will be produced in 3DCG and hand-drawings. According to the director Mizushima’s tweets, the series will only be featuring Japanese-made airplanes and fighters only. Those planes consists of two fighter jets, the Nakajima Ki-43 Hayabusa/Army Type I Fighter, and the Mitsubishi A6M2 Reisen Type Zero.
The official website also announced the staff and cast members, and that the opening song “Sora no Ne” (The Sound of The Sky) will be performed by 30-year-old singer-songwriter ZAQ, and the ending song “Tsubasa wo Motsu Monotachi” (Those who have wings), also written/composed by ZAQ, is to be performed by the six voice actresses of Kotobuki Hikoutai.

In a desolated ground spreading all over, people have carried out distributions and trades, and have lived while helping each other. The “Kotobuki Squadron” is a team of hired bouncers. With its unique members, such as the strict but beautiful female president, the unreliable commander in the field, and the leader of its maintenance unit with a craftsman’s pride, they fight against sky pirates.
