Back in early August, we first learned about the upcoming multimedia project Kandagawa Jet Girls, including the fact that it would be getting an anime series (which we have since learned will air starting on October 8th of this year). On September 24th, we got more details regarding the racing video game that will be released in conjunction with the anime.
According to reports on the Internet, the video game will be hitting Playstation 4 consoles on January 16th, 2020; almost exactly three months after the anime is set to hit the airwaves. The game is being created by Marvelous with Kenichiro Takagi (Senran Kagura) serving as the producer.
As for the anime series which is preceding it, here is a recap of the details we learned back in August:
The story takes place in a world where riding around on jet skis in pairs has become a major sport. The main character is a young girl named Rin Namiki, whose mother used to be a legendary member of the sport. Hoping to emulate her mother, Rin leaves her home and heads to Asakusa, where she meets another young girl named Misa Aoi. Together, they climb the ranks of this intense sport.
Studio TNK will produce the animation (High School DxD, School Days, Akane Iro ni Somaru Saku) with Gou Zappa (Blend S, Nekopara) handling the series composition. The characters will be designed by Tsutomu Miyazawa (Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Girls). The main theme song is titled “Bullet Mermaid” and will be sung by voice actors Yuu Sasahara and Riko Kohara.
