The official website for Wit Studio’s original anime series Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress (Koutetsujou no Kabaneri) posted a teaser visual, and a trailer for the upcoming movie The Battle of Unato (Unator Kessen). The visual teaser features Mumei, the main heroine in tears, and the short audio clip of her talking about her first encounter with the main hero Ikoma. The film will be focusing on Mumei and will take place half a year after the story of the original television anime series, and will open in Japan in spring 2019. The manga adaptation was launched by Shiro Yoshida in the Monthly Comic Garden in May 2016, and then to end in November 2018.

Mumei: “Hey Ikoma, do you remember? That day. I remember it like it was yesterday. You made the promise at the shrine with that idiotic serious face of yours. You said I had a place to return to, you said I wasn’t alone anymore, and that someone’s hands are very warm. You taught me all these different feelings. So, I won’t hesitate anymore. I will definitely find out the secret of Unato. Even if I’m alone.”
Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress first aired from April 2016 to July 2016 as a 12 episode series, followed by two compilations films: Part 1 Gathering Light (Tsudou Hikari) in December 2016 and Part 2 Burning Life (Moeru Inochi) in January 2017.

Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress Movie 3: The Battle of Unato synopsis
The “steampunk survival action” story takes place on the island country Hinomoto, where humans hide in fortresses called stations against the threat of zombie-like beings with steel hearts known as “Kabane.” Only armored locomotives known as “Hayajiro” go between the stations.
