Danpei Ichigeki’s legacy of fiery dodgeball continues with his cute daughter. She grew up listening to his stories of super dodgeball, where players could demolish buildings with a single dodgeball throw. He continues to inspire her even after his death. Danko now takes up his mantle to revive the sport he loved so much. We’ll see her throw flaming balls at targets when Hono no Tokyujo: Dodge Danko premieres sometime in July 2026.

Dodge Danko, the Dodgeball Legacy
Danko Ichigeki is the young daughter of the legendary dodgeball player Danpei Ichigeki. She inherited his love and passion for the game along with his superhuman physical abilities. Danpei has since passed on, leaving everything to Danko. Her idea of playing morning catch with him is throwing a dodgeball at his skyscraper-sized tombstone. She once punched a hole right through it, and the ball kept going. I bet he was proud of her.

Danko continues his legacy by trying to revive his old super dodgeball club at school. The principal shut it down 25 years ago after a series of inflicted injuries from Danpei. Danko and her friend Chinko plan to force the club to reopen by recruiting new members. First up is a very curvy girl, Mochiko Etai, who can take Danko’s full-power throws. Second is the sporty tomboy Susan Canon, who wears very cultured sports clothes at all hours. Danko will need all the help she can get when the daughter of one of her father’s rivals appears to play a game.
