The official website for Iwa Kakeru! Sports Climbing Girls (Hang On! Sports Climbing Girls) announced back in April that Ryudai Ishizaka’s sports manga series would receive an anime adaptation, slated for October 3rd. The promotional video that released alongside the announcement revealed the main production staff and the main character cast.
Ishizaka’s web manga series began on the Cycomis website in December 2017 and ended in May 2019. Ishizaka launched a sequel manga, Iwa Kakeru!!: Try a New Climbing the following month after the end of Iwa Kakeru! Sports Climbing Girls. The first two volumes of the original manga series were published by Kodansha in 2018. All four volumes of the original manga series and the sequel manga were re-released by Shogakukan, digitally.
New visual keys for Iwa Kakeru! Sports Climbing Girls were released recently, with additional information revealing that the opening theme song ‘Motto Miyaku (Much Higher)‘ will be sung by Aina Suzuki, the voice actor for Sayo Yotsuba. The ending theme song, which has not been named, will be sung by the unit LET’S CLIMB↑, which will feature the four actors from Hanamiya Girls High School, Sumire Uesaka, Yu Ishikawa, Miyu Tomita, and Aina Suzuki.

Konomi Kasahara, a junior high school girl, has made a big name after winning numerous competitive puzzle game tournaments. The story begins when she finds a sports climbing club in her high school. Using special skills other then that of puzzle games, Kasahara becomes fascinated with climbing.
