The otaku mind will always associate Japan with kawaii waifus and giant lizards. So, it delights me to tell you that TOHO released a teaser for the upcoming Godzilla Minus Zero.
Long before I was interested in anime, I dreamed about seeing Godzilla destroy a city (not mine). And now, some twenty years later, I’m writing about my favorite kaiju for my favorite horny website. Sometimes, life indeed improves. So, what’s new in one of science fiction’s most popular franchises?

Godzilla Minus Zero Deets
A direct sequel to Godzilla Minus One (2023), Godzilla Minus Zero takes place two years after the original movie. The movie will premiere in Japan on November 3, which happens to be Godzilla Day. If you’ve consumed anime long enough, you know the Japanese have a penchant for random holidays. 72 years ago, the first Godzilla film premiered in Japan on November 3, and the date now enshrines the giant atomic lizard.
Godzilla Minus Zero hasn’t even premiered, and it can already claim a breakthrough achievement. The movie is the first Japanese production to meet the advertising requirements to advertise itself as “Filmed for IMAX.” Godzilla Minus Zero is the first of 38 Godzilla movies to premiere in Japan and the US in the same week, with the American premiere on November 6.
The movie will premiere in Asia, Latin America, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East that same week.
Takashi Yamazaki will reprise his role as the movie’s director, screenwriter, and VFX supervisor. Likewise, Naoki Sato returns as the movie’s composer. Studio ROBOT will produce Godzilla Minus Zero (under TOHO Studios), with Shirogumi Inc. producing the movie’s visual effects.
Godzilla Minus Zero’s cast includes:
- Min Tanaka as Kanji Murakami
- Ryunosuke Kamiki as Koichi Shikishima
- Hidetaka Yoshida as Noda
- Kuranosuke Sasaki as Seiji Akitsu
- Minami Hamabe as Noriko Oishi
- Mio Tanaka as Tatsuo Hotta
- Yuki Yamada as Shiro Mizushima
