Toei Animation and Nitroplus’ Gen Urobuchi are back to creating some very cultured futuristic soldiers. What else can you say about female soldiers who wear cybernetic leotards to battle? It’s all a very cultural experience. And what’s better than female futuristic soldiers in leotards? Futuristic soldiers in leotards who also pilot mechas. Expelled from Paradise: Resonance of the Heart (Rakuen Tsuihou: Kokoro no Resonance) is a sequel movie to Toei’s 2014 movie with a new cast of waifus in cyber leotards and mechs. Don’t let the cute waifus distract you; they also explore the nature of their paradise in space and what is actually happening on an Earth abandoned by humanity.

Expelled from Paradise: Resonance of the Heart News, Cast, Staff
DEVA will be sending the lovely officers to Earth in time for the movie’s premiere on November 13th, 2026. The original film’s staff assembles once again to deliver a stellar sequel. Seiji Mizushima returns to direct, Nitroplus’ Gen Urobuchi will pen the movie once again, Masatsugu Saito serves as the character designer (whether one-handed or two is unclear), and NARASAKI delivers the anime music.
Three of the lovely mecha pilots are as follows:
- Gabriel — Ayane Sakura (Orio from Pokémon Horizons: The Series). Gabriel is one of the third-rank security agents.
- Arma — Saori Hayami (Yor Forger from Spy × Family). Arma is one of the third-rank security agents.
- Raguel — Sally Amaki (Eliza Shimizu from Bocchi the Rock!). Raguel is an environmental research officer.
Toei Animation and Graphinica will animate this movie, which has an official website and Twitter (X) accounts promoting Expelled from Paradise: Resonance of the Heart. You can find more information about the series and the key visuals at those sites.
Expelled from Paradise: Resonance of the Heart Revisits Angela’s Battlefield
It’s been about a decade since we saw Angela Balzac confront Frontier Setter in her cultured cyber leotard. I don’t think anyone really expected a sequel (and a visual novel) after all this time. All of the action and suspense are present and accounted for in this sequel movie, from high-speed fights to giant mechs. Did I mention the hot waifus in cyber leotards? They are present and accounted for. We couldn’t have this adventure exploring a ruined world and questioning the nature of the outer-space paradise these waifus came from without them.
This sequel deals with a group of agents who defected from DEVA and descended to Earth as the “Fallen.” Angela started something that the higher-ups at DEVA can’t stop, and I hope the movie puts Angela and Zarik back in the center of the action. The trailers show the other girls, and they’re hot, but Angela really did become human at the end of her story. I also kind of hope we see Frontier Setter again, even if it’s just a long-range message. For the cultured weebs, we need some yuri action. Make it happen, guys.

Expelled from Paradise: Resonance of the Heart movie summary:
In the year 2400 A.D., humanity had abandoned their physical bodies and the Earth, and come to live in the cyberworld known as Diva.
Triggered by a hacking incident involving a Frontier Setter, Diva investigator Angela Balzac staged a rebellion.
During the incident, she hacked into the systems, allowing a large number of Security Bureau agents to escape to the surface, where they seized hardware that stored not only their material bodies but also their personal data.
Hiding their true forms and identities on the surface, they became a threat to Diva.
Receiving a search order from Diva, Gabriel and her fellow agents set out to uncover the true identities of the Fallen.
Will they be able to overcome the lingering effects of the nano-hazard on the surface, and will they be able to track down the Fallen and unravel its mystery?
The story of Expelled from Paradise begins anew.
Toei Animation and Graphinica released the first Expelled from Paradise anime movie on November 15th, 2014.
