Life’s better when you’re rich. Even when you’re drowning in sorrow — it’s better to drown in a jacuzzi than in a puddle. Oriko Fujido can tell you about the power of friendship money. Or rather, she’s going to show you when the Giant Ojo-sama (Giant Ojousama) TV anime premieres in January!
The anime’s production committee released a visual to commemorate the announcement. They also revealed a few key production positions. Hiroshi Ikehata will direct the anime, and Hajime Mitsuda will serve as chief animation director and produce the character designs. Yuu Satou will work on the anime’s scripts and series composition. Katsuya Ooshima is the assistant director.
Tatsunoko Production, known for their work on Neon Genesis Evangelion and Pole Princess, will animate the adaptation.

Giant Ojo-sama Deets!
Nikumura Q writes and illustrates the Giant Ojo-sama manga. Jump Rookie (a Shueisha manga website) published the series as a limited web comic in December 2020. The following year, Shueisha’s former parent company, Shogakukan, picked up the manga. Their Sunday Webry manga service began serializing Giant Ojo-sama in July 2021. The manga currently has eleven tankobon volumes.
Most four-year-old girls get dolls or play sets for their birthdays, but Oriko Fujido isn’t “most girls.” Oriko is the heiress of the multi-billion-dollar Fujido Zaibatsu conglomerate. Naturally, that means she got a whole city for her birthday. But years later, when a dastardly kaiju attacks her city, Oriko must defend it! And to do that, she enlists her butler and an energy that turns her into a giant version of herself! But, much like the Avengers destroying half the town when battling their foes, Oriko isn’t the best defender.
That’s right, we currently have kawaii waifus becoming kaiju, and soon we’ll have kawaii waifus fighting them! Anime studios finally realized that otakus like big girls (and married women)!
