Studio Atra has given us a better look at its first-ever anime series, Romelia War Chronicle: The Count’s Daughter Rallies an Army in the Wake of Mankind’s Victory (Romelia Senki: Mao o Taoshita Ato mo Jinrui Yabaso Dakara Guntai Soshiki Shita). It’s not often we get to see a studio’s first series as it airs, and I’m pretty excited to see how it goes. Atra is swinging for the fences by choosing the classic “the exiled one is OP” genre, and judging by their first full PV, I have faith they can pull it off.

Romelia War Chronicle News, Cast, Staff
Romelia will launch her campaign to save humanity sometime in October 2026. Hiroshi Shirai sits as the director, Aya Satsuki wields the pen, Yoshiko Saito and Yuta Otaka design the characters, and Kohta Yamamoto provides the epic anime music.
The exiled hero and two of her new comrades are as follows:
- Romelia von Graham — Yuna Nemoto (Homare Azuma from Chained Soldier). Romelia is a war hero with the divine gift of “luck.”
- Ray — Tomohiro Ono (Yuu Kirisihima from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom). Ray is a timid commoner who swears loyalty to Romelia as one of her soldiers.
- Al — Jin Ogasawara (Hiroki Adachi from Ace of Diamond). Al is a commoner who was initially suspicious of Romelia’s true motives for forming an army.
Studio Atra will animate the anime adaptation, which has an official website and Twitter (X) and YouTube accounts promoting Romelia War Chronicle. You can find more information about the series and the key visuals at those sites.
Romelia War Chronicle, Rising Above Treachery to Save the World
Who’s ready for another “our kind main character is royally screwed over” series? They’re becoming a dime a dozen. This one might be the rare variant where the main character is a girl, but the rarity comes from the premise itself: the job’s not finished. Not that the fake heroes wanted to kill Romelia, but their mission to save the world isn’t actually complete. The Demon King Zergis may be dead, but his forces remain. That’s the most intriguing part of this series. I’m curious to see if they get their act together or do nothing while Romelia does all the work. It’s gonna be the latter, isn’t it?
The trailer does a fine job of making these so-called heroes so detestable while warning them that they’re actually strong in a fight. Still, it’s a “we exiled someone who turned out to be OP,” so they do have weaknesses, and I look forward to their downfall. More than that, I look forward to seeing Romelia rise above all of that and use her luck skill to complete the mission and maybe take that idiot’s throne from him. All hail the future Queen Romelia.

After journeying alongside her fiancé on his quest to defeat the Demon King, Romelia is suddenly deemed useless and sent home, her engagement annulled. While the prince and his group return as celebrated heroes, Rome goes home as a disgrace. But she’s not the same girl who left her province. While following the adventurers, Rome was the only one without magic or strength but she found her own abilities in trade, negotiation, finances, and gathering information. And now, she plans to use these skills to not only help her family’s province, but help the still struggling kingdom. The Demon King may be defeated, but his allies and demons continue to roam. With only her wits and brilliance, Rome will build an army of her own and keep the kingdom safe—no matter what it takes.
Ryo Ariyama released the original Romelia War Chronicle: The Count’s Daughter Rallies an Army in the Wake of Mankind’s Victory on the user-generated website Shosetsuka ni Naro on August 26th, 2019. Kodama and Ryo Kamito provided the art for the light novel adaptation, which debuted on June 19th, 2020. Shogakukan has published all six volumes and one short story in the Gagaga Books imprint. Ryō Kamito provided the art for the manga adaptation, which debuted on April 23rd, 2021. Mag Garden has published five volumes in Manga Doa.
