Manga author Hiro Mashima is a lucky fellow. Many authors dream of being able to have just one hit series within their lifetimes, but Mashima has now done it twice with both Fairy Tail and Eden’s Zero! In fact, Eden’s Zero has become so popular that not only is it getting a television anime adaptation, but according to the official Twitter account, it’s also getting a video game from Konami!

We don’t know a lot of details about the new project, but more will be revealed during an online panel held during the virtual 2020 Tokyo Game Show on September 26th.
When Fairy Tail ended in July 2017, Mashima was quick to reveal that he was working on his next project. The big question loomed, however, on if he would be able to make lightning strike twice. Once the manga series Eden’s Zero launched within the pages of Weekly Shonen Magazine in June 2018, all those fears were put to rest as it went on to become a popular series in its own right.
Kodansha Comics publishes the series in English and describes the story as:
At Granbell Kingdom, an abandoned amusement park, Shiki has lived his entire life among machines. But one day, Rebecca and her cat companion Happy appear at the park’s front gates. Little do these newcomers know that this is the first human contact Granbell has had in a hundred years! As Shiki stumbles his way into making new friends, his former neighbors stir at an opportunity for a robo-rebellion…And when his old homeland becomes too dangerous, Shiki must join Rebecca and Happy on their spaceship and escape into the boundless cosmos.
This is big news for fans of Hiro Mashima and the series that he creates. With any luck, fans on this side of the Pacific will get to experience the game as well at some point in the future.
