Are you among the many who are anxiously awaiting news on the second season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba? Wait no longer as Aniplex has revealed a new promotional video which reveals that the second season will premiere before the end of the year!
The second season will adapt the manga’s eighth arc, the Entertainment District arc, which features Tanjiro, his sister Nezuko, and Zenitsu visiting the neighborhood of Yoshiwara to investigate the disappearance of wives in the area. There’s no word on how many episodes the second season will have but with the sheer amount of events that occur within this arc (no spoilers from me!), I imagine they are going to want to take their time with these reveals for maximum impact.
In terms of the cast and crew, the roles will all be remaining the same. The original voice cast are all returning to reprise their roles, ufotable is producing the animation, Haruo Sotozaki is directing, and Akira Matsushima is designing the characters.
Demon Slayer continues to be a hot topic of conversation even after the manga drew to a close late last year. Not satisfied with being a visual marvel to watch thanks to the brilliantly artistic animation from ufotable, Demon Slayer went on to set multiple box office and home video sales records. It certainly feels like those of us in the news business can’t go more than a couple of weeks without having to report on something new related to the franchise.
It certainly makes me wonder how many Tanjiro’s and Nezuko’s we’re all going to see in 2022 when we’re attending anime conventions again. Even better, how many Tanjiro’s carrying their Nezuko’s we’ll see!
Regardless of anyone’s feelings about this franchise, however, it seems as though Demon Slayer is here to stay for a very long time to come!
