A boy who still has issues trusting women suddenly found his father has remarried. What’s more, his new mother has a daughter his age. Days with My Stepsister (Gimai Seikatsu) presents two stepsiblings who seemingly want to keep things neutral between them. We’ll see how long that lasts when this anime series premieres sometime in July 2024. Let’s enjoy the new trailer until then.
Ghost Mikawa created the Days with My Stepsister mixed media project. The first entry is the light novel series published by Media Factory in the MF Bunko J imprint on January 25th, 2021. Ten volumes have been published so far.
The two stepsiblings in question are as follows:
- Yuta Asamura — Kohei Amasaki (Fohl from The Rising of the Shield Hero). An average guy who works at a bookstore. His trust in women diminished after his mother cheated on his father.
- Saki Ayase — Yuki Nakashima (Yuki Otokura from The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls). A flashy gyaru-type girl who begins to see her stepbrother in a different light the more time they spend together.
Studio Deen has maintained a home page and a Twitter (X) page to promote Days with My Stepsister. There is also an official YouTube page with English subtitles that covers more of this mixed media project. You can find additional series information and the Key Visuals there.
Days with My Stepsister Brings Two Lonely Souls Together
Yuta Asamura has lost a great deal of faith in women. He’s fine associating with them and even gets along with his pretty coworker. However, his family was torn apart after his mother carried on an affair with another man, which led to a nasty divorce. Yuta was surprised when his father, Taichi, happily announced he married another woman. Yuta kept his concerns to himself and offered his congratulations.
Saki Ayase may look like a flashy gyaru-type girl but has a comparatively dry and frank personality. Her mother, Akiko, worked hard to raise her, so they didn’t see much of one another. Saki perfectly accepts her mother getting married again. She also accepts Yuta keeping his space from her. That is until she meets Shiori Yomiuri, Yuta’s beautiful senior at work. Saki begins to have some unusual feelings then.
