Love it or hate it, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? (Danjon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darō ka or just DanMachi) is the series that just keeps on going. Much like another certain magical series based on a light novel series, DanMachi seems poised to continue for however long fans of the franchise want. For proof of that, I submit to you the fact that along with so many others this past weekend; it was revealed that DanMachi will return for a fourth television season!
To mark the occasion, a 90-second promotional video was released, complete with English subtitles, which reveals some upcoming story beats and a 2022 premiere:
Sad that you have to wait another year to see the new season? Well, I have a second piece of good news to help make those tears go away as they have released more information about the next OVA, which will hit shelves in April 2021.
In the new OVA titled Is It Wrong to Crave Hot Springs in Orario? -God of the Hot Spring Forever-, Bell and the gang head to a bathhouse. Want a peek of what that’s going to be like? Well, here’s another promotional video for you.
The story for the OVA is described as:
A strange hot spring resort has suddenly sprung up in Orario. Since it appeared, people visited there daily to relieve stress. Of course, Bell and the other faces of the Hestia Familia were seen within the crowd. However, there was a group of people who are suspicious of the popular resort… Hot spring, conspiracy, and a secret hidden behind the veil… After a dazzling adventure, Bell witnesses the truth of it all!
Another GA Bunko title, DanMachi has been running continuously since January 2013 and has sixteen volumes in print in Japan as of October 2020. The series is also being released in English by Yen Press, who have released fifteen volumes as of December 2020. The fantasy series has been a runaway hit with fans (if you couldn’t tell by the way it’s been green-lit for a fourth television season), helped in no small part by Hestia’s boob ribbon but also a genuinely touching story about not giving up on yourself.
