A cute girl from England has some trouble winning a slightly less cute koala toy from a crane game. The employee on duty offers to win the plush toy for her. Cultured otaku friends, we have another gamer girl on our hands. They keep invading our screens, and we’re thankful for that. We’ll see how these two get along when Cultural Exchange with Game Center Girl (GaCen Shojo to Ibunka Kouryu) premieres sometime in July 2025.
Hirokazu Yasuhara released the original Cultural Exchange with Game Center Girl manga series on May 15th, 2020. Fujimi Shobo has since published nine volumes in Niconico Seiga.

The gamer girl and the employee are as follows:
- Lily Baker — Sally Amaki (Eliza Shimizu from Bocchi the Rock!). A foreigner from England. She has an affinity for manly koalas.
- Renji Kusakabe — Shoya Chiba (Yu from Fire Force). An employee at a local game shop. He has a talent for winning crane games.
Nomad maintains a home page and a Twitter (X) page to promote Cultural Exchange with Game Center Girl. You can find more information about the series and key visuals there. The plush was just the beginning.
Cultural Exchange with Game Center Girl & the Manly Koala
Renji Kusakabe passes his time as a dutiful store clerk. He might not have much of a personal life because he didn’t know it was Valentine’s Day. His lack of waifu may change soon, however. Renji notices a cute foreign girl trying and failing to win a Manly Koala toy from a crane game. She put her all into it for three hours. Renji stepped in out of pity and sympathy to win it for her in his first attempt.

Renji offered the koala to her as a gift. Lily seemed wary at first, but Renji insisted it was a Valentine’s Day gift. A misunderstanding passed between them and she bashfully accepted it. Valentine’s Day is different in England. In western countries, typically, men offer gifts to women as a love confession, and that’s exactly how Lily interpreted the situation. Meanwhile, in Japan, you can give Valentine’s gifts to friends and coworkers, with no connotation of love. Renji will soon understand this and work to rectify the situation while maintaining his budding relationship with the cute English girl.
