One thing that’s frustrating about Crunchyroll is the sheer number of series they have in their library which will probably never get a home video release, like Kuroko’s Basketball and Polar Bear Cafe. Luckily for all of us, Crunchyroll has been working on fixing that via partnerships with various companies in North America. Today, it’s their partnership with Sentai Filmworks which is producing tasty fruit!
In an announcement posted to the official Crunchyroll blog on Tuesday, May 18th, they revealed that Crunchyroll and Sentai Filmworks will once again team up to release the following series on home video in the US and Canada. It was noted that all of the releases will be available on DVD, Blu-ray, and digital download services.
The full list reads:
- Noblesse
- Onyx Equinox
- HAIKYU!! TO THE TOP
- I’m Standing on a Million Lives
- Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!
- Monster Girl Doctor
- My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!
- Rent-A-Girlfriend
- Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It
- Somali and the Forest Spirit
- Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun
As you can see, there are plenty of series on this list to celebrate for, including Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! and Somali and the Forest Spirit, but the series that I’m most excited about adding to my home video library is easily My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! which, had it not been for the very charming series Kakushigoto, would’ve been my Anime of the Year in 2020.
While I’m excited that all of these series are getting a proper home video release, My Next Life as a Villainess is just too precious to not get a home video release that can be shared with many, many more people ahead of its season two premiere!
The partnership between Crunchyroll and Sentai Filmworks was first announced at last year’s virtual Crunchyroll Expo event. With any luck, this is just the beginning of many more fun announcements from this partnership this summer!
