It feels like it was a month or so ago when I was convulsing in a movie theater because the Chainsaw Man movie’s pool scene didn’t show Reze’s tits. And it feels that way because it actually was about a month ago. That timeline makes the news that Sony’s already giving Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc a digital release explosive! Usually, we have to wait months for a release, but we’re getting both the subbed and dubbed versions of the movie on December 9!
Keep in mind that this is the digital release of the film, not its streaming release. Only Sony, Crunchyroll, and whatever deity you believe in know when you’ll see Reze’s kawaii smile on a streaming site. But come Tuesday, if you have some spare cash to kill, you can buy a digital version of the blockbuster Chainsaw Man movie.

Why You Should Care About the Film’s Success!
Reze is naked in the pool scene. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
But realistically speaking, Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc’s success is far more significant to the anime world than Demon Slayer. Sure, Gampachiro’s movie outsold Denji’s, but think about who those movies attract. Kimetsu no Yaiba is like Batman. The hoi polloi adore stories about protagonists with “good intentions” fighting the ills of the world. On the other hand, my boy Denji is out there fighting evil out of self-interest; all he wants is to clap some cheeks and get some grub.
Everyone in Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc is morally ambiguous; it’s never a two-dimensional story. Yet people cheered for it, and that’s something anime excels at. But moral ambiguity isn’t evident in Demon Slayer (still love that pig dude). Chainsaw Man is geared towards cultured individuals. Introducing people to anime through shows like this is the right way to lead them down the rabbit hole. That way, we avoid tourists crying foul whenever someone lewds an anime character.

Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc Deets
Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc adapts part of Tasuki Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man manga. Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump serialized the first manga’s first arc from December 2018 to December 2020. The Shonen Jump+ app and website serialized the manga’s second arc since July 2022. Shueisha has compiled the manga into 19 tankobon volumes. Viz Media releases the manga in North America, Crunchyroll streams the anime in several languages, and we sell the Chainsaw Man figure below.
The Chainsaw Man manga is also available in English as an ePub on the Manga Plus app.
