The shounen title Hazure Skill “Kinomi Master” (or Useless Skill “Nut Master”), the web novel series by Hanyuu, will get an anime adaptation. The media franchise includes a manga adaptation, illustrated by Air Matsukoto, and a light novel adaptation, illustrated by Yasutaka Isekawa. Meanwhile, all three properties are ongoing and full of pretty waifus. Forget the nuts. I smell cleavage.

Can we stick with Hazure Skill “Kinomi Master” or Hazure Skill “Nut Master,” please? Shōsetsuka ni Narō must hate translators, but you can thank the user-generated novel site for this story. Nut Master began serialization on the site in mid-2020. Following that, Kodansha’s Monthly Shōnen Sirius serialized the manga the following year. Then, 2022 saw the first light novel hit the shelves. Boom, boom, boom! It had to be an anime next.
Nuts, Fruit, Skills, and Death in Kinomi Master
Light Underwood is just a boy. Just a boy with dreams of becoming the greatest adventurer of all time! When life hands him lemons “skill fruits” that grant him the power of nut farming, he makes lemonade throws himself into nut farming and sword training. Seemingly, that’s his dedication to one day fulfilling his dream. Or a farming sim premise that makes scrotal torsion sound like fun.
And, oh boy, Light might feel like his nuts are in a vice when his childhood friend Raina becomes an S-Rank Sword Saint. Understandably, he’s alone on his farm, now playing with his nuts.
The twist (fortunately without scrotal torsion) is that he accidentally eats a second “skill fruit” (or nut, whatever). Surprisingly, this gives him the “Sword God” skill without killing him. Will he impress Raina with his “sword and nut style?” Am I just making stuff up now? Have we finished with the awful nut puns?
Well, you’ll just have to wait for the Hazure Skill “Kinomi Master” anime to drop.
