The English dub of Makina-san a Love Bot?! is set for an April 30 release! OceanVeil had previously announced that the series would receive an English dub as part of its partnership with Ascendent Animation. However, production delays had pushed back the dub’s premiere. The English voice cast for Makina-san a Love Bot?! includes:
- Chloe Eves (Genshin Impact, Zenless Zone Zero) as Makina Agatsuma
- PM Seymour (Honkai: Star Rail, Fire in His Fingertips) as Eita Akutsu
- Elsie Lovelock (Unexpectedly Naughty Fukami, Zenless Zone Zero) as Alma Sakimori
- Haley Nelson as Mimika Imose
- Jennifer Silverman (Genshin Impact) as Ms. Ooya
- Mana T. Johnson (Unexpectedly Naughty Fukami) as Mamimi
OceanVeil has also green-listed the English dubs for two other AnimeFesta titles, Offering My Virginity to a Gangster and XL Boss.
Who Cares About Dubs?
I can already hear the discontent that comes with news about dubbed content. As John Oliver once eloquently dialogued, “Subs, not dubs, ’til the day they put you in the ground.” Even though I’m tempted to agree with him, we should make content more accessible. Think of it this way — A visually impaired person may be able to see Makina-san a Love Bot?! but unable to read small subtitles. Most streaming services don’t let you change font color and size. Sometimes, dubbed content is the only way someone can watch their beloved waifus.
What’s Makina-san a Love Bot?! About?
A mech-obsessed loner, Eita, spent his time building and learning about robots as he blended into the background. But while Eita’s appearance and personality are on the meek side, his likes are extravagant. He’s smitten with the school’s idol, Makina Agatsuma.
But knowing she’s out of his reach, he keeps his admiration to himself. But when Makina turns up at his door, Eita receives a surprise beyond his lewdest dreams. His crush is a love bot made to seduce men and needs his help! Acquiescing to her pleas, Eita patches her up and lets her recover in his apartment. But little did he know that his kindness would reward him with horniness. Because after her rescue, Makina became hell-bent on repaying the favor in the only way she knew how — with the plap, plap, plap.
