Hana Ichise’s family treats her like dirt because they consider her average compared to her peerless older twin sister. The lord of her clan discovers her true power and quickly proposes to her, whether she likes it or not. We’ll see how her newlywed life goes when Bride of the Barrier Master (Kekkaishi no Ichirinka) premieres sometime in January 2027.

Kureha and Bodax released the original Bride of the Barrier Master novel on December 21st, 2021. Kadokawa Shoten has published six volumes in the Kadokawa Bunko imprint. Odayaka provided the art for the manga adaptation, which debuted on March 5th, 2022. Enterbrain has published seven volumes in B’s Log Comic.
Bride of the Barrier Master Cast
The new magical couple is as follows:
- Hana Ichise — Akari Kito (Nezuko Kamado from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba). Hana is the youngest daughter of the Ichise family. Her parents all but abandoned her in favor of her older twin sister.
- Saku Ichinomiya — Kikunosuke Toya (Denji from Chainsaw Man). Saku is the new lord of the Ichinomiya clan and Hana’s new husband.

The Bride of the Barrier Master Will Marry, Whether She Likes It or Not
Hana Ichise and her older twin sister Hazuki were as thick as thieves while growing up. However, their cruel parents endlessly compared them and their spiritual power. Hazuki was able to summon a human-type shikigami as a child, a feat very few people could perform. Hana was quite happy with her butterfly shikigami, even if it’s the lowest-ranked type. Her parents endlessly ridiculed Hana while heaping some very toxic praise onto Hazuki. This persisted until a certain lord discovered Hana’s secret.
Hana awakened her true power at the age of fifteen and even summoned two additional human-type shikigami. That made her one of the most powerful spiritual practitioners. She kept this power a secret so her parents couldn’t use her as a tool. The new lord of the Ichinomiya clan, and by extension her clan, discovered her true power and desired to make her his new wife. Hana agreed to marry Saku in exchange for money and freedom, and also to secure one of the five crystals that keep Japan safe.
