It has been a while since we first looked at Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki (Jaku-kyara Tomozaki-kun). Now Season 2 has been announced. There’s no premiere date, but we have a nice trailer to look at until we know more details. All the Season 1 staff are returning, so there’s nothing to worry about there.
Studio Project No.9 is returning to work on the second season of Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki and has since maintained a promotional home page and an official Twitter page to keep fans and potential viewers informed about new series announcements and updates. It will also post series extras, like the key visual seen below.
Let’s Play
For those new to the series, Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki follows the titular character Fumiya Tomozaki, who prefers his online life to his offline existence. In the online video game Attack Families, he is known as “nanashi” (Japanese: nameless) and is at the top of the leaderboards. By comparison, he feels that his efforts amount to nothing, and he refers to real life as a “trash game” that he refuses to play. He’ll go to school and do anything else necessary to get by, but he’s not much of a participant.
The second-ranked player in Attack Families is known as NO NAME. After a match against his would-be rival, the two agree to meet up in person. When they finally meet, it’s a complete surprise to both that they already know one another. NO NAME is Aoi Hinami, Fumiya’s classmate at school. Aoi is top-ranked offline and excels at everything she does. Kind, beautiful, and academically and physically gifted, she’s considered perfect.
Aoi admires and respects nanashi in the game, as she had never overcome him, no matter what she did. When she realizes Fumiya’s offline status is less than ideal, she offers to help him overcome his issues and be his walkthrough guide.
