BIRDIE WING –Golf Girls’ Story– Season 2 makes its opening drive on April 7th, 2023, after being postponed from its planned winter anime season start. Eve and Aoi continue their doubles match play in the high school golfing tournament. The opponents they met last season get Eve’s competitive juices flowing. But as Eve and Aoi progress through the tournament bracket, they will surely meet wilder and more overwhelming golf girls! You can see some of those future opponents in the Season 2 Main Visual below.
The Shaft-Gripping Story Up to Now
BIRDIE WING’s official website introduces the second season’s starting point:
The new stage is Raiou Girls Academy in Yamanashi. Eve is a member of the school’s golf club. She meets a girl, Ichina, who aims to become a professional caddie. Eve reunites with Aoi, and they take on a new challenge: the All-Japan High School Girls Doubles Championship! The two of them will compete against the best schools from all over the country. The renowned high school golfer, Mizuho Himekawa, stands in their way. Can Eve and Aoi win the fierce battle?
With Eve’s “Rainbow Bullet,” they will pave the way to the future!
Golf Girls’ Story has come a long way from the outrageous Mafia sci-fi golfing wagers in the mean streets of Nafrece. Somehow, that dark underbelly will resurface like an alligator from a Florida water hazard.
The Long Ball Driving Cast of BIRDIE WING
The plot of Golf Girls’ Story progressed so well that some of the main characters became supporting characters. When Eve came to Japan, new characters started walking the fairways with Eve and Aoi. Let’s meet the old and new main characters!
- Eve — the straight shooter. I mean it. Eve can only swing line-drive shots. Let’s see if her golf swing changes. She’s voiced by Akari Kitou (Nezuko from Demon Slayer).
- Aoi Amawashi — the long ball driver. Voiced by Asami Seto (Raphtalia from The Rising of the Shield Hero and Senpai-san from Ganbare Doukichan). She likes handling extra-long shafts!
- Amane Shinhou — Aoi’s long-suffering minder. Voiced by Ami Koshimizu (Mizuki Nakahara from Lycoris Recoil and Yamashiro from Azur Lane). I’m sure fans of red half-rim glasses will love her.
- Ichina Saotome — Eve’s new caddy at Raiou Girls Academy. Voiced by Saki Fujita (Ymir from Attack on Titan and the voice behind Hatsune Miku from Vocaloid). Eve never lets her have a good night’s sleep.
- Reiya Amuro — Raiou Golf Club Adviser. Voiced by Tooru Furuya (Amuro Ray from Mobile Suit Gundam). The retired pro golfer has a secret agenda.
- Leo Millafoden — Eve’s golfing coach in Nafrece. Voiced by Shuuichi Ikeda (Char Aznable from Mobile Suit Gundam). He has history with Reiya Amuro! Are they enemies like their Gundam counterparts?
- Mizuho Himekawa — Eve’s new golfing rival. Voiced by Yukari Tamura (Jibril from No Game No Life). The Japanese Amateur Women’s Golf Champion will make Aoi jealous of Eve’s attention.
Most of the second season’s action scenes (golf and implied yuri) will happen at golf tournaments. So, I’m curious about those new golf girls in the show’s poster. What bizarre golfing techniques will they bring to the tee?
