I’ve been a fan of the animation studio SHAFT for years now, and so any day that they announce a new animation project is a good day for me!
In an announcement made on both Twitter and the official website, they have revealed that a new series is incoming from studio SHAFT (Madoka Magica, Bakemonogatari, Nisekoi, among many others) titled Assault Lily Bouquet. The series will be part of a multimedia project which is based on 1/12 scale dolls created by doll maker Azone International. Along with the key visual seen above, the announcement also revealed the primary cast and two crew members.
All we know about the crew so far is that the director will be Shouji Saeki and that character designs are being provided by Mieko Hosoi. For the cast, the voices will be provided by the same actors who will portray the characters in the stage play adaptation which will run in Tokyo from January 9th to 15th, 2020.

The story takes place on an alternate near-future Earth, which is being overrun by creatures known as “Huge.” The only ones who can defend humanity against these creatures are teenage girls known as “Lillies” who are capable of synergizing with weapons called “CHARM.” Special schools are set up all around the world to train aspiring Lillies on how to fight the Huge. This series will share the stories of one such group of girls in one of these schools.
No premiere date has been set for Assault Lily Bouquet, but stay tuned to J-List for updates as more information becomes available!
