All Four Rebuild of Evangelion Movies to Stream on Amazon

Evangelion fans, the day you’ve been waiting for is finally here. It’s the day that Studio Khara announces that the entire Evangelion anime franchise will be available to stream globally by the end of the summer!

Evangelion Amazon Prime Announcement 01

Yeah, you heard that correctly. Starting August 13th in 240 countries and territories around the world, you’ll be able to watch all four of the Evangelion rebuild movies on Amazon Prime, most especially the most recent one titled Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time. We know for certain that the latest movie will be dubbed in ten different languages and subbed in 28 languages around the world (excluding Japan) but are still awaiting details on the first three movies. This is in addition to the TV series and End of Evangelion being available on Netflix, which means that if you wanted to, you could spend a week binging on nothing but Neon Genesis Evangelion.

I make no promises at what your mental state will be like upon the conclusion of that binge but you could still totally do it.

Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time has had a hard and well-documented journey to finally get released on the big screens in Japan and small screens around the world which included delays because of production issues, financial issues, mental health issues, and also a worldwide pandemic which caused an entire planet to essentially stand still for over a year. Finally, after so many delays, however, the movie was finally released to Japanese theaters on Monday, March 8th, 2021, and quickly became the highest-grossing movie in the franchise’s history.

The Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise isn’t universally loved by all anime fans, but it’s pretty much as close as you can get without your name being Sailor Moon. It’s just amazing to finally live in a world where a series that so many consider an eternal classic will finally be made available to brand new generations of anime fans who will be watching it for the first time alongside lifers who were afraid that the franchise would never end within their lifetimes.
