3 Stage Adaptations of Popular Manga to Stream in August

One aspect of otaku culture that I’ve always been fascinated by but have never gotten to experience is live musical or stage adaptations of anime/manga titles. For years now, fans on this side of the Pacific have been teased by announcements of some of the most popular titles in recent and distant years getting stage adaptations, without ever being able to experience them for themselves. Finally, someone is stepping up and giving fans the chance to experience three of the hottest titles in a brand new way.

Manga Stage Play Streaming 01

In an announcement posted to the Live Viewing Japan website, the company announced that fans in select regions around the world will be able to stream three different stage adaptations throughout the month of August. From August 6th through the 12th, the stage version of Naruto will stream, from August 13th through the 18th, it will be the stage version of My Hero Academia, and then to cap off the month, it will be the musical version of Sailor Moon from August 19th through the 26th. Each stream must be purchased separately via the official website but the good news is that it’s super cheap at only $15 USD per show.

The bad news is that the streams will only be available in the following counties and territories: United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Singapore. Everyone else is flying solo.

While I have no real interest in the Naruto or My Hero Academia stage adaptations, the idea of watching the Sailor Moon musical has me all sorts of giddy excited and I’ve already marked the premiere date on my calendar.

If you’ve ever been even remotely curious about these stage adaptations that have been popping up over the last few years, I encourage you to check out at least one of these options being presented in August so that we can show that overseas fans want to see these things too and hopefully more of them will be released online for the rest of the world!
