Japan is managing to turn around and return somewhat to the status quo after a lengthy state of emergency issued in response to the spread of the deadly COVID-19 virus, which forced people across the country to isolate themselves at home. The sudden quarantine led to unexpected delays, shut-downs, and down-sizings across the country, with the anime industry being hit especially hard. Plenty of upcoming anime series and movies were delayed due to the effects of COVID-19 on production, but many of those projects are now setting new premiere dates, such as part 2 of No Guns Life. Unfortunately, while many anime projects are on-track to make their return, some other productions are only now facing unexpected delays. The latest anime to suffer that fate is the 2nd Seitokai Yakuindomo theatrical film, which has now been delayed indefinitely.
While the new Seitokai Yakuindomo film was originally meant to open in theaters across Japan on July 10th, the official website for the movie has announced that the production committee for the film is delaying the premiere indefinitely. While no new opening date has been mentioned, the announcement confirmed that anyone who bought advance ticket passes will still be able to use them for the delayed opening of the film.
Miho Okasaki will be joining the cast of Seitokai Yakuindomo as Yu Hirose. She joins the following returning cast members from previous entries in the series:
- Yoko Hikasa as Shino Amakusa
- Sayuri Yahagi as Suzu Hagimura
- Shintaro Asanuma as Takatoshi Tsuda
- Satomi Sato as Aria Shichijou
- Satomi Arai as Ranko Hata
- Yuu Kobayashi as Naruko Yokoshima
- Chiaki Omigawa as Mutsumi Mitsuba
- Asami Shimoda as Kotomi Tsuda
- Mutsumi Tamura as Sayaka Dejima
- Emiri Katou as Kaede Igarashi
Hiromitsu Kanazawa will be returning as the director and script supervisor of the series, while Makoto Furuta will once again be handling character designs. Furuta will also be the chief animation director of the Seitokai Yakuindomo film. Ken Naito will be the art director, alongside color designer Ryusuke Araki and sound director Ryo Tanaka, with Yuya Mori serving as the composer for the film. Glovision is handling sound production alongside the music producer King Records.
