Jahy visits Druj’s corporate headquarters. She enjoys a luxurious bath with the Landlady and the Store Manager. Then she reminisces with Druj at a Dark Realm-themed party.
Restoration Plan No. 8 – “The Great Jahy Can’t Bathe!”
Hmm.
This week, The Great Jahy makes the case that Druj, the demon of lying, is perfect to run a management consultancy. People think management decisions require data, facts, analysis, and reasoning. Unfortunately, anyone who has ever prepared a report for a middle manager on the best direction, and steps a project should take, knows what happens afterward. The boss never implements those well-reasoned recommendations! Management just uses your report to justify whatever decision they had already made.
But what if management has burned the employees too much on these useless reports that they risk resentment, low morale, lower productivity, and even insubordination? Like The Great Jahy shows, the consulting firms are the answer! Clever managers know they’ll need someone to “blame” for the decisions and directions the employees will hate. Finding a scapegoat is expensive, but that’s what the Human Resources budget is for.
If Dilbert can make a joke out of a whole industry, then you know it’s full of liars and weasels who pander to the gullible and steal that money. It’s no wonder that Druj, the Aryan demon of lying, drove the Dojima Corporation to immense success so quickly. The Great Jahy has a source of comedy to mine for jokes on corporate and wealth issues. Jahy’s farce of a motivational speech showed that already.
Druj’s party scene was heartening for us to see Jahy get emotional about missing her status in the Dark Realm. But then she steeled her resolve to get everything back. The promises that she yelled out the window still form the shape of the overall plot of The Great Jahy. She’ll recover the mana crystals, defeat the magical girl, and move to a place with a bath! The third act of the Dark Realm party also lets us see how the other demons have been coping with the loss of their homeland. Jahy maintains her defiant pride while Druj makes dolls and recreates the Dark Realm as much as she can. I’d like to see how Saurva has been coping besides plotting against Jahy. I hope the next episode touches on her circumstances.
Heh.
Jahy’s day off means a cold bath. It also means a limousine comes to kidnap her! Oh, Druj needs the Great Jahy’s help. For what? Ha! Jahy wants to live in the limousine forever. Compliments work well on Jahy. Just call her “Number Two,” and she’ll do anything you want. Druj’s office is humongous! She’s an apt CEO of a wealthy corporation. Hahaha! Management consultancy! That’s perfect for a lying demon. Charge companies an exorbitant fee to justify what they would have done anyway! Druj gets it.
It’s a stretch that Druj needed Jahy to give a motivational speech to new hires, but it’s enough of an excuse to bring her old boss to her company. Jahy gives The Great Jahy version of a TED Talk. Or not! Hahaha! Druj mastered the management buzzword jargon and stole Jahy’s thunder. The humans feel the effects of Druj’s words. We can see how she quickly rose to the top of a consulting firm. I wonder if this is how Jahy ruled in the Dark Realm and she’s only now realizing her minions managed her instead of the other way around. Oh well, Druj will still thank her by throwing her a party.
Ew. Jahy has only been bathing every three days. Whether she needs it or not! The hygiene of the Great Jahy is not so “great.” Understandably, she’d want to avoid lukewarm water in a tiny tub. Oops. Landlady never told her where the public bathhouse and laundry were! Here we go, here we go! Haha! Convenient! Jahy can save money by paying the child fare. Nice. Jahy’s adult form in the bath is well worth the entry fee.
Aw. Landlady feels left out. Her pride won’t let her ask her older sister to spoil her with the same attention she’s giving Jahy. Oh. I see Saurva in the background! Har. Jahy is stealing Saurva’s soap! The Store Manager doesn’t need any more milk, but Jahy enjoys the taste of the post-bath tradition. Saurva is still in the background! I love how The Great Jahy makes recurring jokes. Jahy will need to save her yen for more baths.
Aw. I feel sympathy for Druj and Jahy now. They’re like refugees trying to keep their culture alive in a strange land. Druj needs Jahy to mistreat her to get that feeling of home. Oh, man. Druj made puppets of Jahy’s minions. Uh oh. The human world keeps intruding on this Dark Realm party. Druj must be doing this on purpose. She’s provoking Jahy so she can receive abuse! Ah. It’s Cinderella time for Jahy. She wants to leave the “Dark Realm” while she’s still in her Great Jahy form. She kept the dream going as far as she could. The opening credit’s theme plays in a minor key. Sad. The Dark Realm party reminded Jahy of what she wanted to recover. Druj also made a puppet resembling Jahy! They both share the same dream.
Next time, Saurva guest stars again. We see her perspective from the bath scene! Since she is an alchemist, I wonder if she made her own soap.
The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated! (Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai!) streams on Crunchyroll and VRV.
