Vampire Girls Who Rule Halloween Night

Halloween is upon us! This season brings cute and scary girls to appreciate. We cultured otaku love non-human girls as much as we love human girls. Vampires, zombies, cat girls, etc. This spooky season also invites a sense of danger and mysticism. Not all “monsters go bump in the night” and are cute girls. We’ll need a crack team of supernatural girls to watch over (and under) us this Halloween season. We’ll start by finding the best vampire girl.

1. Shinobu Oshino (Bakemonogatari)

Shinobu Oshino — also known as Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade — is a centuries-old vampire girl with peerless vampiric abilities and matching beauty. Her beauty led many to their doom, which forced Shinobu to find someone immune to her curse. A vampire turned her into one, extending her life for centuries. Her exceptional vampiric abilities — such as matter materialization — have diminished recently, and she looks much younger than usual.

Nisio Isin and Vofan began working on the Monogatari novel series on August 10th, 2005, with Kodansha Box releasing 29 volumes afterward. Studio Shaft’s anime adaptation premiered on July 7th, 2013.

Shinobu would make for a strong (if mischievous) ally with or without her former form and power. Her wisdom and experience from centuries of life would be tremendously valuable in navigating the spooky season. Shinobu comes in different forms, so she can appeal to many. Those interested in cute schoolgirls or older women need only ask.

2. Yue (Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest)

Like Shinobu, this cute vampire girl is much more than she appears. Yue — also known as Aletia Galdea Vesperitio Avatarl — is another centuries-old vampire with unique gifts. She once ruled the Avatarl Kingdom and bravely defended it with her ability to regenerate her body and manipulate mana. Her uncle and her vassals sealed her away deep inside a dungeon. Though Yue took it as a betrayal, she later discovered their plans to hide her from a great evil. Hajime Nagumo later freed Yue, and she became his first wife.

Ryo Shirakome and Takayaki released the original Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest light novel between June 25th, 2015, and September 25th, 2022. Overlap published all thirteen volumes in the Overlap Bunko. Studio Asread’s anime adaptation premiered on July 8th, 2019.

Yue’s status as an Atavist vampire ranked her among the most powerful mages of her time. She can manipulate mana and use complex spells without formations. Her aged wisdom and intellect also afford levels of protection for those who need a cute immortal vampire girl.

3. Nazuna Nanakusa (Call of the Night)

Nazuna is more of a typical average vampire girl. She’s not the “chosen one” of her world. She’s just another cute vampire with a somewhat famous mother. Well, she was born a vampire, something not really seen before. Nazuna led a laid-back life until she met Kou Yamori and became addicted to his blood. He accepted her drinking his blood.

On the one hand, she’s cute. On the other hand, Kou wants to be a vampire too. Their strange relationship evolves into mutual affection even though Kou becomes a half-vampire whose physical and vampiric abilities outpace those of full-blood vampires.

Kotoyama released the original Call of the Night manga series between August 28th, 2019, and January 24th, 2024. Shogakukan published all twenty volumes in Weekly Shonen Sunday. Liden Films’s anime adaptation premiered on July 8th, 2022.

Nazuna is a fashionable and street-smart vampire girl from the modern age. She’s not a born warrior like other famous vampires but can hold her own in a fight well enough. Nazuna can easily navigate the supernatural world, making her a valuable ally during the spooky month.

4. Terakomari “Komari” Gandesblood (The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess)

Komari is a vampire princess. Her father is the Prime Minister of the Mulnite Empire, Arman Gandesblood. She secluded herself from the outside world and refrained from drinking blood. This stunted her growth and made her incapable of using magic. Empress Karen Helvetius upended her quiet life with her cute maid Villhaze after she appointed her as one of the Seven Crimson Lords and the Commander in the Mulnite Imperial Army’s 7th Unit. She must now lead an army into battle with no battle experience. Her soldiers are mostly hardened criminals looking for any reason to rebel. Thankfully, she has a cute maid at her side.

Kotei Kobayashi and Riichu released the original The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess light novel on December 25th, 2021. Square Enix has since published three volumes in Monthly Big Gangan. Project No.9’s anime adaptation premiered on October 7th, 2023.

Komari is a noblewoman with connections to high society and access to incredible amounts of resources. However, she is a bit of a double-edged sword. She gains leadership experience and maturity in her role as a Crimson Lord. However, she put herself into seclusion for a reason. Were she to drink any blood, her true frightening power would awaken. Komari would lose control and kill anyone around her. If someone could help her control some of that, they would have a cute vampire girl capable of decimating an army at their side.

5. Live (Mayonaka Punch)

Live is a particularly charming vampire girl who has slept for twenty years. She awoke after dreaming of Masaki Sonoue. Live tracked her down to an abandoned hospital and scared the poor girl with her vampiric tendencies like hanging from the ceiling and super speed. Masaki fled for her life and nearly lost her life after falling from the hospital roof. Live flew after her and showed Masaki how beautiful the night can be. Masaki agrees to let Live feed on her in exchange for helping Masaki gain one million “NewTube” subscribers.

Doga Toko Shojo and Tomomi Usui released the original Mayonaka Punch manga series on March 4th, 2024. Kadokawa Shoten has since published one volume in Young Ace. P.A. Works’s anime adaptation premiered on July 8th, 2024.

Live doesn’t possess world-ending vampiric abilities. Like Nazuna, she’s a modern vampire girl with a big house. She’s also a matriarch with matching responsibilities. Live is also very charismatic, which is useful when dealing with spooky stuff you can avoid with a pleasant conversation.
