Jahy tries to keep Kyouko away from Kokoro. Kyouko starts a part-time job at a familiar place.
Restoration Plan No. 15 – “The Store Manager Cannot Decide!”
Hmm.
The Great Jahy took a step back from dramatic action, plot development, character development, and exposition to do one thing: play with all the shiny new toys! Kyouko is in Jahy’s circle of friends, whether Jahy prefers it or not, and that means it’s time to make jokes and gags with the other characters. The first one to meet Kyouko was Kokoro. Jahy was not happy about sharing her favorite friend with her new politically arranged ally.
I enjoyed the connection Kyouko made with Kokoro because it references her past actions as the Magical Girl. As The Great Jahy showed us last week, she broke the heart of the Demon Lord, which destroyed the Dark Realm. Now, she’s making friends with a new “heart” (kokoro means heart). Jahy feels possessive and jealous about Kokoro because she’s the one who offers the most honest praise. She’s also the one that Jahy considered a peer because of her size. Jahy can’t play with the Store Manager, the Landlady, or Druj in the same way. Kokoro will still be Jahy’s number one fan because Kyouko has another obligation to consider.
Kyouko has a mouth to feed at home. And what a bottomless maw! Jahy can be angry about Maou living with Kyouko, but she also knows she can’t do anything about it. The Great Jahy didn’t explain Kyouko’s family circumstances. However, we know her place is more spacious, and she can afford more food. Well, she used to afford more food. Maou affected her financial situation. Thankfully, Kyouko appears to have a sisterly rapport with Maou. She can persuade Maou with treats like a pet! Jahy did not like seeing that.
I wonder if Maou will keep visiting the Craft Pub Maou because the Store Manager is generous enough to fix her delicious food. Jahy might not like that either because it will be another display of Maou preferring someone else’s company to hers. The dark truth of the human world, according to The Great Jahy, is what Kyouko discovered: “To make people happy, you need money.” Jahy knows that all too well.
Heh.
The Great Jahy wants great praise from Kokoro. Jahy sits on top of the slide because it’s the closest thing she can find to a throne with armrests. Plans ruined! Because the most noticeable thing about Jahy right now is the high school girl following her around. Kyouko is not her friend! Okay, okay, she is her friend. New minions are hard to handle. Kyouko never had friends, but she knows how to play tag. Jahy doesn’t want Kyouko to become friendly with Kokoro. Too late! Even elderly ladies like watching them play. Jealous Jahy just can’t deal. Thankfully, the force of Kokoro’s virtue sways Jahy into accepting Kyouko. They’re all friends now.
Jahy needs a break from Kyouko following her everywhere. Her only sanctuary is her workplace. How ironic. Of course, the writers of The Great Jahy won’t let Jahy rest. The Store Manager just hired Kyouko as another part-timer! After dismissing Jahy’s paranoid accusations about Kyouko’s motivations to work at the Craft Pub Maou, Kyouko explained why she needs money. Yup. The Demon Lord exorbitantly increased her food bill. Jahy relates to the cruelty of this human world.
Now Kyouko needs on-the-job training. Jahy will be her mentor! It’s time for The Great Jahy to joke about how clumsy an all-powerful Magical Girl can be. How many plates and glasses will Kyouko break on her first night? Hoo boy! Look at Jahy contort to save beer mugs and plates. I’m still sad about that spilled beer. Extra help should have made Jahy’s job easier!
Ah. Kyouko had a tiny crystal shard tangle in her ponytail. Was that the source of the mishaps? Perhaps. But I think it increased the number of accidents instead of causing Kyouko’s bad fortune. The Great Jahy already showed us how Kyouko attracted accidents even before she started collecting mana crystals. Misfortune always finds her. Serving became easier for both Jahy and Kyouko after the fragment’s removal, though. The Store Manager praised Jahy for being an excellent teacher. Jahy eats that stuff up.
Jahy won’t volunteer for extra work, but if it’s for free food, then sign her up! The Great Jahy becomes Shokugeki no Jahy. Every high school girl is a closet foodie and cuisine critic. Jahy finds the fish dish as delicious as Kyouko does, but Jahy hatches a plot. Manipulate the Store Manager into fixing her expensive meat entrées! Savory pork is fine, but Jahy wants to make a moon shot. Wagyu beef! The Store Manager fell into Jahy’s pace.
How does it taste? The Great Jahy does foodgasms! Jahy weeps from the beefy flavor. The Landlady heard the squeals of orgasmic delight and put a kibosh on the beef entrée for the restaurant. We know how cheap the Landlady can be. Just look at how she skimps on apartment building maintenance. Uh oh. Someone else arrived who will make Jahy weep. Maou appeared at the Craft Pub Maou! Naturally, Maou’s quick hands made the entire table’s food disappear. She wants seconds! Kyouko says no. Hahaha! Look at that glare! Oh, that is adorable. Kyouko placated the short Demon Lord by letting her pick out a convenience store snack on the way back home. Jealous Jahy wants to hold Maou’s hand too!
Next time, the miniature Maou gets more broadcast air time.
